We celebrate those who are still with us, holding their families together with unconditional love and courage each and every day… and we lovingly remember the mothers who are no longer physically with us, but whose wisdom, traditions, memories, and spirit continue to live on through generations. ✨

Today, we commend the strength, resilience, grace, and bravery of all mothers — especially the women who carried families through hardship, migration, struggle, sacrifice, and survival while still finding ways to love deeply and give endlessly.

At S.H.E. West Indian, we believe that nurturing the earth is just as important as nurturing our community. That’s why this summer, we’re excited to introduce planting and gardening initiatives as part of our Youth Programs 🌱✨

Through this, our youth will learn:
🌿 The value of caring for the environment
🌿 Hands-on life skills through planting and growing
🌿 The importance of sustainability and connection to nature

We are honoured to have Netu Lal as one of our VIP guests ✨ for S.H. E. West Indian Mother’s Day Brunch.

Netu is a Guyanese-born advocate, cultural ambassador, and the first woman of Guyanese heritage to be crowned Miss Toronto. From Miss Teen India Guyana 2023 to 1st Runner Up at Miss Teen India Worldwide, she proudly represents her Indo-West Indian roots on a global stage.

Beyond pageantry, she is a mental health advocate and founder of Beyond the Lens, using her voice to break stigma, uplift others, and celebrate the strength of our diaspora.

She is also a beautiful inspiration to the young girls we are committed to uplifting and empowering 💛
