Shamanic Yoga Institute Shamans practiced energy medicine for more than five thousand years, transmitting this knowledge from
one generation to the next through an oral tradition.

Join us to carry forward ancient knowledge for the stewardship of self and of the earth. The Medicine Wheel is a process that Shamans have passed on orally since the beginning of time. Informing and enriching, the Medicine Wheel guides participants on personal healing journeys and re-connects them with nature. Shamans practiced energy medicine for more than five thousand years, transmitting this k

nowledge from one generation to the next through an oral tradition.Healing methods used are a synthesis and interpretation of ancient healing practices. Techniques for healing with spirit and light are my contemporary reinterpretation of ancient healing practices. Shamanism is an ancient tradition that has been passed down orally for centuries. The practice of Shamanism has been around and used since the beginning of time. There use to be a time when people had a strong connection to the the Earth and to the Spirit of the Universe. All were connected and cherished in unity through ceremonies, dance and rituals. Over the last few centuries, humanity has lost this connection that was once a natural rhythm of the world. As time begins to shift and people begin to awaken, the need for this connection is returning in a strong way as people are recognizing that their lives are not only physical but very much spiritual. We are embracing what was once becoming lost which is now returning. Are you ready to reconnect once again with the natural realm because the Earth Mother has so much that she can teach us through her song and dance that we have taken for granted for so long. It is time to protect her beauty and embrace this Unity once again.

There is one teaching I cannot stop carrying.

Last weekend, in an incredible prayer circle, we sat with medicine woman, Michele Taggart.

In one of our integration sessions, she shared a teaching from her own mentor, Cristina — and it held as an anchor for the rest of the weekend:

Family is the real thing. The rest is only constructs and limitations.

I keep returning to it.

Family, in this sense, is wider than blood. It includes our bloodlines, our circles of practice, the elders, the teachers, the children, the ones who walk beside us, the ancestors, and the land that has held all of them before us. It is the quiet recognition that we belong to something — and that something belongs back to us.

Family asks us to be of service. To see the needs in our own communities. To share willingly, openly. To take care of one another.

Family is not sentiment. It is showing up. Again and again. Until the showing up itself becomes the prayer.

She is a thousand years old.

A Douglas fir, rooted in this place long before any of us arrived — long before the names we use for these mountains, these rivers, this land.

She has stood through a thousand winters. A thousand thaws. Fires. Floods. Droughts. The slow march of generations she will never meet.

Beneath her, the soil hums with mycelium — the wide web through which she has fed her young, warned her neighbours, and shared what she has when others did not have enough. She sends carbon to her seedlings. She steadies what is struggling. She offers nourishment to ones that are not her own.

Around her, life unfolds in relationship — moss, fern, lichen, salal. Birds, squirrels, deer, bear. A whole world reaching toward her shade, her shelter, her steadiness.

Of the thousands of seeds she has released into this forest, only a few will live long enough to take her place. The rest will feed the soil, the fungi, the saplings, the next breath of the canopy. In her abundance, she gives more than she keeps.

This is what a thousand years has taught her: to feed without measuring, to stand without bracing. To live as relationship itself.

May we learn from her.

Shakti Nidra is the disciplined art of preparing the body, breath, and field — so that Shakti may come in and do her work.

Designed for practitioners, teachers, and healing professionals, this 50-hour live virtual training offers a clear path into the method, philosophy, and facilitation of Shakti Nidra — a post-lineage healing practice rooted in the map of the koshas and shaped by a commitment to embodied liberation, social awareness, and lived transformation.

This is Nidra as a technology of coherence. Through invocation, sankalpa, breath, rotation of consciousness, nyasa, sound, and the drum, participants learn how to settle the system, refine perception, and prepare the field for journeywork and deeper healing.

A practice of restoration — and of reclamation. One that supports healing while participating in the wider movement toward decolonization, feminine spiritual reclamation, and the creation of safer, more ethical containers for transformation.

Led by Dr. Christine Selda and Rochelle Quarry.

“The world is a watery shadow of ocean-love.
that sea of light cannot be contained
in single human beings, so leave fragments,
and be the mountain.”
