Qi Gong is more than just waving your arms around…
This ancient practice explores - embodied existence -
Through Release.
Expression.
Awareness.
Restoration.
Ease.
And Embodied Conscious Presence.
Learning Qi Gong is a little like learning an alphabet.
At first, we make big square letters…
Where We learn shapes and structure…
Then, through practice, those basic skills become calligraphy.
Eventually, every movement and form become embodied poetry — something alive enough to express who you really are.
Qi Gong is More Than Postures and Forms
It is also a lifelong relationship with Free-Flowing Movement,
Alignment and Stillness,
Qi Awareness Skills,
Agility and Flexibility,
Shapeshifting into Animals,
Breathwork,
Somato-Emotional Release,
And Meditation
A Qi Gong form is like a classic song…
The more often you repeat the song, the more carefully you tune the instruments of embodied awareness, and the more often you stop practicing…
and begin to become the music.
Teaching develops in much the same way…
A skilled teacher does more than demonstrate movements.
We learn to notice each person’s alignment, vitality, breath, hesitation, tension —
and the changing atmosphere of every class.
Teaching Qi Gong is mostly learning in front of others with authentic embodiment and playful curiosity…
Begin with a Complete System…
And let it teach you and others -
for the rest of your life
A Shifu is a teacher, a mentor, and a guide — not a master to be followed blindly, and certainly not a magician.
Teaching begins with practice, humility, curiosity, and respect…
respect for the people who trust you with their bodies, their health, and sometimes their inner lives.
And, if you decide to become a teacher, that exploration becomes a gift to the world - and a responsibility to each student.
That is how a tradition stays alive.
Not by mechanically repeating the past, and not by discarding it — but by understanding its essence deeply enough to carry it forward.
Practice wholeheartedly and your students will feel your energy from across the room.
