Cultivating Wellness

Cultivating Wellness Digging deeper into women's health through learning, engagement and connection.

As someone who has spent a lifetime prioritizing movement and health, bone density was not something I was actively worried about either. Like many women, I assumed my active lifestyle meant I was likely doing enough. It wasn’t until I completed a bone density scan and began reflecting on the gaps in my own understanding of menopause, nutrition, resistance training, and prevention that I realized how much women are simply not being told about bone health in midlife.

That's why I created The Strength Beneath.

Join us Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Camosun College for a thoughtful morning of education, conversation, and practical insight into protecting strength, mobility, and long-term health during midlife.

Most women think about bone health too late.

Bone loss accelerates during perimenopause and menopause—
at a rate of 2–3% per year, often without symptoms.

No warning signs.
No baseline.
No clear guidance on what to do.

This is the gap.

✨ Bone is living tissue—it responds to how you move, fuel, and support your body.

Which means there’s more within your control than you might think.

The Strength Beneath - What Women Need to Know About Bone Health is a 3.5-hour session designed to help you take a more proactive approach to your bone health—through movement, nutrition, and understanding what’s actually happening in midlife. May 24th 2026 from 9-12:30 at Camosun College Landsdowne Campus.

📅 Register by April 24 to receive early pricing.

New Cultivating Wellness Event Announcement. Learn why bone health matters — and how it changes across the lifespan.
In Canada, 1 in 3 women over 50 will experience an osteoporotic fracture, many from simple, low-impact falls. Fewer than 1 in 4 women believe they’re at risk for bone loss.
The good news is that bone health is something you can influence — and the earlier you start, the greater the impact.
You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of what’s happening beneath the surface — and a personalized framework to help you take informed, meaningful action to support your bone health for the years ahead. Tickets go on sale soon!

Gratitude Post — The Midlife Health Shift
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible presenters for sharing their expertise and insight at today’s Midlife Health Shift event.

Dr. Sarah Nyrose – for helping us understand the powerful connection between inflammation and hormones.
Dr. Janice Wright – for shining a light on cognition and brain fog during perimenopause.
Meggan Oliver – for her practical guidance on pelvic floor health and dysfunction.
Michelle Meckling – for exploring pain, injury, and the role of movement as medicine.

There was a wonderful overlap in messaging across all four presentations — a reminder that women’s health is deeply interconnected. Thank you to everyone who joined us with curiosity, openness, and community. Together, we’re shifting the conversation around midlife health.
