✨ 1 year in Business ✨

I’d like to take a moment to reintroduce myself!

Hi there, my name is Lorena and I’m an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (OMP) here in Windsor–Essex.

It’s officially been 1 year since I opened my doors & started my practice. This past year has grounded me and taught me more than I could have ever imagined. I feel incredibly grateful for both the personal and professional growth that has come with stepping into this work.

As I reflect on my first year in practice, here are a few lessons I have learned:

šŸ‘Less is more.
There’s a common challenge practitioners can face in the clinical space: giving the patient what they want versus what they truly need. More treatment in a session isn’t always better. Overtreating can dysregulate the nervous system and create additional challenges. Approaching care with the mindset that less is more allows the body to better receive and integrate change. A little at a time truly goes a long way.ļæ½

šŸ’—My worth is not measured by outcomes.
Early on, I struggled when patients didn’t progress the way I hoped they would. It took a toll on my internal dialogue & self-image, I felt like I wasn’t doing good enough. I’ve since learned to separate my value as a human—and as a practitioner—from results. Every body heals differently, on its own timeline, and that process is not a reflection of my worth nor should it be.

šŸ‘No two people are ever the same.
Even when symptoms look identical, the story behind them never is. Two people can come in with chronic headaches, yet their root causes can be entirely different—shaped by structure, life history, stress, mindset, and so much more. Treatment must always reflect the individual, not just the symptom.

I’m endlessly grateful for every person who has trusted me with their care, and for the lessons this work continues to teach me. Here’s to continued learning, growth, and honoring the body’s innate wisdom.

🦓 Cheers to another year of osteopathy!
