This month we’re highlighting what the data tells us about youth and their relationships with family. Family is one of the major domains of Planet Youth because it was identified as one of the places where youth spend most of their time. Supportive family connections are one of the strongest protective factors when it comes to youth wellness and substance use prevention.

Over the next 9 months, we will be sharing one post each month with data from the Planet Youth survey completed by Grade 10 students at Woodstock High School in the spring of 2025. We’re taking a closer look at substance use among youth in Woodstock. When we try to understand when and why youth begin using drugs and alcohol, it helps us focus on prevention strategies that truly make a difference.
