Self-care isn't selfish; it's physiological! 🌿
Look at the incredible difference regular massage therapy makes on the human body. On the left, smooth, well-circulated, and relaxed muscle tissue. On the right, accumulated tension and tight fibers.
Routine bodywork helps restore mobility, reduce chronic pain, and keep you moving freely. Make wellness a habit, not a reward!

Soul Symphony Co. | CALM PRACTICE | Cricketing
Welcome Home!

Have you ever noticed yourself rubbing your feet together when you are tired, cozy, anxious, or trying to fall asleep?

This is sometimes called “cricketing” — a self-soothing behaviour where you gently rub your feet together, almost like a cricket.

While it may seem like a small habit, the body often does this as a way to create comfort, rhythm, and sensory input. The gentle pressure and repetitive movement can send calming signals to the nervous system, helping the body feel grounded and safe.

Our feet hold many nerve endings, so rubbing them together can create a soothing sensation that brings awareness back into the body. For some people, cricketing happens naturally when they are winding down, regulating stress, or seeking a sense of comfort.

It is your body’s quiet way of saying:

“I am trying to settle.”
“I am looking for safety.”
“I know how to comfort myself.”

Sometimes healing begins in the smallest movements.

The STOP technique is just a small pause when things feel overwhelming. 🤍

You stop for a moment…
you breathe…
you notice what’s happening inside you…

and then you choose your next step more gently, instead of reacting straight away.

It won’t fix everything, but it can help you feel a little more steady in that moment.

Soul Symphony Co. | REFLECTIONS | Feeling Safe

When your nervous system finally feels safe, you begin to return to yourself.

The parts of you that felt quiet, hidden, exhausted, or overwhelmed can slowly come back online. Your joy, your creativity, your softness, your confidence, your playfulness — they were never gone. They were simply protected beneath survival.

At Soul Symphony Co., we believe healing begins with safety in the body. Through nervous system awareness, somatic practices, and gentle self-connection, we learn how to soften, regulate, and come home to who we truly are.

Stay close to yourself.

Soul Symphony Co. | REFLECTIONS | Check In With Yourself
Welcome Home!

Your nervous system is always communicating with you.

Sometimes the first step toward regulation is not doing more, but gently pausing long enough to notice what is already here. A simple check-in helps you connect with your body, name your feelings, and identify what you may need to feel more grounded, supported, or safe.

Ask yourself:

How do I feel right now?
What has been on my mind?
What do I need today?
Can I write it down or say it out loud?

When we give our inner world language, we help the body move out of overwhelm and into awareness. This is where regulation begins—with presence, compassion, and the willingness to stay close to yourself.

Stay close to yourself.

Soul Symphony Co. | REFLECTIONS | Self-care
Welcome Home!

Self-care is not always soft music, candles, and quiet mornings.

Sometimes self-care is the brave, quiet decision to remove yourself from people, places, and situations that leave your body feeling tense, your heart feeling heavy, or your spirit feeling unseen.

Your nervous system is always communicating with you. When something feels misaligned, inauthentic, draining, or unsafe, you are allowed to listen.

You do not need to explain your peace to everyone.
You do not need permission to choose what feels healthy.
You are allowed to walk toward what feels calm, honest, and safe.

Stay close to yourself.

Soul Symphony Co. | REFLECTIONS | Gaslighting
Welcome Home!

Gaslighting can quietly disconnect you from your own inner knowing.

It may sound like:

“You’re overreacting.”
“That never happened.”
“You’re too sensitive.”
“You’re imagining things.”
“It’s your fault.”

Over time, these words can create confusion, self-doubt, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation. You may begin questioning your memory, your emotions, and even your reality.

A gentle reminder: your feelings are information. Your body notices what your mind may try to explain away. Healing begins when you come back to yourself, trust what you feel, and create space from what continually makes you doubt your truth.

Stay close to yourself.
