This is a reflection for the upcoming Mother’s Day.
Not on motherhood as a single role
but on the nature of being a woman.
We often describe the female experience through cycles:
the menstrual cycle,
the changing seasons,
the different stages of life.
Each of these follows a similar rhythm
a movement between outward and inward,
between energy and rest,
between connection and return.
But what is often missing in these frameworks
is the reality of lived experience:
we do not move through these states one at a time.
We hold many of them simultaneously.
The one who nurtures,
the one who creates,
the one who feels deeply,
the one who seeks space,
the one who keeps going,
the one who needs to stop.
This coexistence is not a flaw.
It is the structure.
A cyclical system,
lived in parallel.
Perhaps this is what we are really honouring,
not one role,
but the many women within 🌸
