🚨 MAMA,STAYING IN VIOLENCE "FOR THE CHILDREN" DOES NOT PROTECT THEM.

The increasing reports of women losing their lives through intimate partner violence and femicide are deeply alarming.

Behind every woman killed is a child who will never hear her mother's voice again.

Mama,we know you are staying because you love your children. But please hear us:

Your children need you ALIVE,not enduring in pain.

Your children see everything.
Your son is learning that a man can beat his wife.
Your daughter is learning that love must hurt to be real.
And you,mama, you are slowly dying inside.

That constant fear, those sleepless nights, that high blood pressure, that body that is always sick that is not normal. That is trauma living in your body.

When you stay and endure, you are unintentionally teaching them that violence is love. It is time to break the cycle.

FEMICIDE IS REAL. IT IS HAPPENING. IT MUST END.
Femicide is the intentional killing of women and girls because they are female.

You are not alone. We see you. We hear you.

Your life matters more than "what will people say."

Threats to kill are not ordinary quarrels. Take them seriously.

Her life is not yours to take.
Her dignity is not yours to destroy.
Her decision to leave is not a death sentence.

Protect women.
Challenge violence.
Break the silence.
Save lives.

TO FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES
Please do not pressure a woman to stay in a dangerous relationship to preserve marriage, protect bride price, or “for the sake of the children.” No marriage, no family honour, no bride price is worth a human life.

When a woman runs to you for help, do not send her back to die. Do not tell her "di endure." Listen. Protect her. Take her to the health center. A marriage that kills is not a marriage to preserve.

We were trained to wait for patients in the hospital, but our villages cannot wait.

In far-to-reach communities, mothers still die from what we can prevent not because there is no cure, but because health education never reached them.

That is why I founded RURAL NURSES "Reaching Rural Hearts". Our mission is simple: take health care to the last mile.

Target: Mothers, children, youths ,veterans,busy people who can't wait on long queues at the hospital and the elderly in underserved communities.
Focus: Hygiene, nutrition, maternal health, malaria, diarrhea, hypertension & diabetes etc

I believe prevention is the first medicine.

Every mother wants the best for her child, but in many rural communities, breastfeeding decisions are often influenced by long held beliefs rather than accurate health information. While traditions are an important part of our culture, some misconceptions can prevent babies from receiving the best possible start in life.

This World Breastfeeding Week, Rural Nurses encourages families, caregivers and community leaders to support mothers with facts, compassion and encouragement. When mothers are informed and supported, babies are healthier, families are stronger and communities thrive.

Breastfeeding is more than feeding a baby it is an investment in lifelong health. By creating safe spaces where mothers can ask questions without fear or judgment, we help ensure that no mother feels alone on her breastfeeding journey.

In many rural communities, breastfeeding is sometimes neglected, misunderstood or affected by myths, lack of support and misinformation. Yet every mother deserves the right information and support to make informed decisions about feeding her baby.

A mother may be struggling silently not because she doesn’t care, but because she may lack guidance, encouragement or access to a health worker.

Breastfeeding support should reach every mother, everywhere.

Let’s encourage families and communities to:
✅Support breastfeeding mothers without judgment
✅Share accurate breastfeeding information
✅Encourage mothers who may be struggling
✅Connect mothers with skilled health workers when they need help
✅Make breastfeeding support part of community health

No mother should be left alone to figure it out. No baby should miss out because support was unavailable.

Runs from August 1st-7th | Theme: “Breastfeeding for a sustainable start in life: strengthen what works.”

Every baby deserves a healthy start in life and breastfeeding is an important part of that beginning. 💚

But mothers should not have to navigate breastfeeding alone. When families, health workers, communities, workplaces and health systems provide the right support, mothers are better supported to breastfeed successfully.

This World Breastfeeding Week, Rural Nurses joins the call to strengthen the support systems that work especially for mothers and families in rural and underserved communities.

🖇️Today, Rural Nurses stands with the world to mark World Hepatitis Day 2026.

Under the theme “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” we reaffirm our commitment to educating communities, promoting early testing and ensuring that no one is left behind especially those in rural and underserved areas.

Knowledge saves lives. Early detection saves lives.

In a small rural village, a hardworking father began feeling tired every day. He thought it was just stress from farming. Weeks turned into months. His eyes became yellow, he lost his appetite, and his stomach started swelling. By the time he reached a health facility, his liver had already been seriously damaged.

This is the reality for many people living with hepatitis.

Hepatitis is one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, yet it remains highly neglected. Many people don’t know they have it because it can silently damage the liver for years before symptoms appear.

⚠️ Watch out for:
• Unusual tiredness
• Yellow eyes or skin (jaundice)
• Dark urine
• Loss of appetite
• Nausea or vomiting
• Abdominal pain or swelling

In many rural communities, limited access to health information, testing and treatment means too many people are diagnosed late.
