At Optimum Health Global (OPHEG) – Kumba Branch, we believe that good health goes beyond the workplace. It is also about connection, teamwork, trust, and supporting one another.

Our team members and volunteers (a section) came together today for an exciting Sporting Activity designed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, team bonding, and a stronger sense of community. 🏃‍♂️⚽🤝

Through fun and engaging games, we learned valuable lessons in teamwork, trust-building, effective communication, cooperation, and mutual support. Every game reminded us that just like in healthcare, success is rarely achieved alone—it takes a team that listens, communicates, trusts, and works together.

At OPHEG, we are committed to building healthier individuals, stronger teams, and more connected communities.

EVERYONE EVERYWHERE DESERVES TO KNOW!

With the utmost joy of fulfilling our mission, we were warmly received by Dance with JuJu on Monday 3rd of August, to bring health closer to her Holiday Dance Class Students. Everyone everywhere deserves to know about their health and their body!

These are the kinds of moves we love to hear where heads of institutions prioritise health education in every gathering because this is one way of promoting health and preventing diseases.

Our team members took their time to breakdown every subject and every topic to the easiest understanding of attendees who were between 11 and 18 years of age.

Topics included
✅ Personal Hygiene

✅ Puberty

✅ Menstruation

These three simple topics took us more than 3 hours yet it wasn't enough to educate. Students asked questions, linked their experiences to various circumstances. We are thankful to DWJ for this opportunity and others to come.

Dance with JuJu is a seasoned Holiday Dance boot-class where instead of children staying home after their third term, they get enrolled into the class.

This is not just about dance class, but the main mission is Building Confidence in Children through Dancing. Various sessions are held with the kids aside dancing to keep them equipped such as this health session.

It has been 4 WEEKS of learning, 4 WEEKS* of sacrifice, 4 WEEKS of showing up, 4 WEEKS of building relationships, and 4 WEEKS of becoming a family.❤️

And now… our PREOPS Cohort 5 training journey is finally coming to an end.

It’s hard to believe we’ve come this far. We are excited, grateful, and, if we’re being honest, a little emotional too. It has truly been a privilege walking this journey with every one of you.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL! 🥳

Today marks more than the end of a training programme. Your status is about to change—from *PREOPS to OPHEGMITES.*
What a beautiful milestone!

We couldn’t be prouder of the growth, resilience, commitment, and transformation we’ve witnessed throughout these four weeks.

We believe that the best way to empower a community is to empower the actors who will take this knowledge of equity to every corner.

🌊 Drowning is preventable. Yet every year, it claims more than 300 000 lives, or 30 people every hour. Nearly 1 in 4 are children under 5.

The good news is that we know what works.

🇹🇭 In Thailand, communities came together to fence dangerous water, teach children to swim, train families in CPR and supervise children near water. The result? Child drowning deaths fell by 57%.

You can help save lives too:

👀 Always supervise children near any water – even buckets, bathtubs and water tanks.
🏊 Teach children to swim and learn water safety.
🛟 Wear a life jacket when boating or fishing.
❤️ Learn CPR – it could save someone’s life.
🏡 Cover or fence pools and other water hazards around your home.

🤝 Since 2000, the global drowning rate has fallen by 38%, but thousands of lives can still be saved every year if we act together.

Every life counts. Every action matters. Together, we can turn the tide.

THE HEALTHCARE WE DON'T SEE 🚨

The clinic is only 20 kilometres away. Sounds close, right?

But imagine you're a mother with a sick child. The road is rough.
There is no reliable transport.

It has rained for three days, and the river has risen.
You finally find a motorcycle willing to take you—but the cost is more than you can afford.
So you wait.

The child's condition gets worse.
And suddenly, 20 kilometres feels like 200.

This is the part of the healthcare story we don't always see.
We see hospitals.
We see doctors.
We see nurses.
We see laboratory scientists
We see pharmacists
We see midwives
We see medicines.

But sometimes, we don't see the distance between a person and the healthcare they desperately need.
We don't see the roads.
We don't see the rivers.
We don't see the cost of transportation.
We don't see the shortage of healthcare workers.
We don't see the communities where health information doesn't reach.
And we don't see the families who are forced to choose between seeking care and simply waiting at home.

This is why Primary Healthcare matters.

Healthcare should not only exist. Healthcare must be accessible.

At Optimum Health Global, we believe that where you live should never determine the quality of healthcare you receive.

Our commitment is to help bridge the gap between communities and care through health education, community engagement, innovation, outreach, and partnerships.

Because sometimes, the greatest healthcare intervention is not building another wall around a hospital.
It is finding a way to bring care closer to the people.
