This week‘s episode is a guided meditation - a relaxing, Yoga Nidra-inspired body scan.

It’s an invitation for you to slow down, boost your immune system, quiet your nervous system and busy mind, and, to release any anxiety or emotions that might be bogging you down.

Let this be your time...

Your time to observe any sensations throughout your body, melt away any scattered energy, tensions or outside noise, and, get grounded in the present moment.

In this incredible talk we touched on what it means to connect back to your roots, to walk with plants to learn more about yourself, your culture and your place in this world, and, how to live in reciprocity, respect and reverence of nature and the potent plant medicines and foods that come from the land.

To know your roots is to begin to know yourself.

This Thursday! 🌱

Now, those tactics are what has been tackling for the last 20 years (and continue to apply to reduce the waste that exists currently), but, recently they’ve turned over a new leaf to incorporate another, profoundly more effective third pillar of their business in their effort to eliminate our wasteful ways.

is a means to actual stop the production and use of disposable items, in the first place, by bringing mainstream food and personal care products to consumers’ doorsteps in reusable, refillable packaging.

This episode will make you think and feel differently about what you buy, use and what you think is ‘trash!’

Take a listen to this super fun episode this weekend (maybe while cleaning up a local park or beach in honour of Earth Month) and get ready for a real mindset shift!

It was bound to happen...an episode all about ‘waste.’

But, this discussion about waste is NOT like what you’ve heard before, I guarantee it!!

Our global waste problem is beyond alarming, with more than 2 BILLION TONS already filling our landfills, and more generated every day.

And, while plastic is the nemesis of the environmental movement, with a lot of attention on reducing the single-use plastic that enters our waste stream, that ALONE will not solve our waste problem.

Enter and and their innovative partners.

This week we talk to Tony Rossi, EVP of Global Business Development at Terracycle.

We talk beyond the current system of recycling to see how Terracycle and their industry partners are literally reshaping the way we manufacture products as well as what happens the the materials in their after-life.

Tony explains the economic variables that waste management companies use to determine what is valuable for recycling as well as some of the really fascinating upcycled materials that are being developed world-wide.

But, more importantly, we discuss the important considerations for ALL of us as consumers to evaluate when buy, dispose or recycle products. Things like, how good are compostable bags anyway? Do you really know what should go in your blue bin? Also, are there other products that I can recycle??

If you’ve ever heard the saying “One person’s garbage is another person’s treasure,” then this episode will flip your notions of what ‘trash’ is on its head.

This is truly an eye-opening, incredibly innovative, inspiring and all around FUN chat about a zero waste future!

Set your clocks, this one airs tomorrow!

We’ve been 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚍 for more than 99% of our human history.

We’ve simply forgotten our wildness.
We’ve forgotten how to be in relationship with our natural world.
We’ve forgotten we’re a part of nature and thus a part of the web of interactions. communications and knowledge woven within it.

This week we chat with Dr. Nancy Turner, a world-renowned ethnobotanist who spent more than 50 years walking alongside First Nations elders to learn about the traditional teachings about plants, environments, and land managment that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Her work has showcased how ecological wellness is intrinsically linked to our cultural and community wellness…and thus on our own individual wellness.

So if we want to preserve, rewild and restore our lands and remember our roots, we’re best to learn from our plant relatives and our most respected elders.

Warning‼️
This week’s chat with Rob Holmes, Founder and Chief Strategist for GLP Films, will most definitely elicit feelings of wanderlust and exploration.

Rob Holmes is a masterful storyteller and a man who genuinely wants to see the world become more mindful, more sustainable and more connected. Through the stories of people and places from around the world, Rob and the GLP Films team are changing how the tourism and sustainability industry share their mission-driven work and, ultimately, how the industry upholds more ecologically and socially responsible values.

Having worked in five continents and 40+ countries and created 200+ short-films, Rob has heard and shared a LOT of stories!

As he says, the focus of all of those stories always comes back to one thing...people.

And so, today we get to share and celebrate Rob’s story and that of all the lives he’s connected with around the world.

Go get yourself a snack, find a comfortable spot...it’s story-time!

Travel, for me, has always been about seeing places through the eyes of a local.

Learning about a different way of life, the food, the family traditions, the community festivals and celebrations, the connection to their natural surroundings, wildlife and plant life, and, the stories...

Stories of how families came together, of their family traditions, of what’s important to them and of why they feel, see or think the way they do about the world they live in.

We experience the world through stories, near and far, and that’s the topic of this week’s chat with Rob Holmes, Founder and Chief Strategist of GLP Films and who I would call the 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴.

We talk about travel, specifically sustainable travel, and the relationship between that and wellness, community and admiration of all people from around the world.

We also chatted about the future of travel, based on how Rob sees the industry changing, and, hat it means to be a mission-driven company.

So, if you’re ready for some story time, tune in this Thursday!
