How to Correct Behavior Without Rejecting the Child.
Discipline should teach, not wound.
A child needs to understand that a poor choice does not make them a bad person. We can correct firmly, hold boundaries, and still protect the connection they depend on.
Ask what happened before assuming. Correct privately when possible. Use consequences that make sense. Let them feel upset without withdrawing love. And when the moment is over, help them repair and try again.
The message should always be clear:
“What you did needs to change, but you are still loved, still safe, and still worthy of connection.” ❤️
