Why look at a runner from just one angle when the human body moves in 3D? 🏃‍♂️✨

In our running gait analysis in Paphos, we look at both the Sagittal (side) view and the Coronal (front/back) view in slow motion to unlock the full picture of your movement.

📐 The Sagittal View (Side) - This is all about your braking forces and propulsion. We analyze your foot strike relative to your center of mass, overstriding tendencies, and knee flexion. If you are landing too far ahead of your body, you are essentially hitting the brakes on every single stride.

⚖️ The Coronal View (Front/Back) - This is all about your stability and alignment. We watch for dynamic knee collapse (valgus), pelvic drop, and overpronation. These side-to-side imbalances are the hidden culprits behind nagging knee and hip pain.

The Ultimate Goal: When we combine both views, we catch the micro-traumas before they turn into bench-warming injuries.

Our senior athlete came in for a running gait analysis. I started with the usual questionnaire to check his injury history. The athlete is 100% injury-free! 👏

During a 2D motion analysis, we can catch micro-traumas before they become chronic injuries.
🏃The Goal: Prevent overuse injuries by identifying repetitive, asymmetrical loading.
Over thousands of strides per run, a 2-degree asymmetry can lead to unilateral structural damage in bones, tendons, or cartilage.

Your head is heavy.
Your neck feels every centimeter it moves forward.

💻If you spend hours at a computer or looking down at your phone 📱those tiny muscles under the skull — the occipital muscles — become overworked and tight.🥴

forward head posture (“computer neck”)
neck tension

This simple chin tuck wall exercise helps activate the deep neck stabilizers while giving the upper neck a chance to relax. Try do it or something similar every day 👆

Combining with massage therapy is extra help to reduce tension and improve posture awareness.

Those tiny muscles at the base of your skull are called the occipital muscles. Small, but powerful. They work nonstop to support your head, posture, eye movement, and even respond to stress. 🥴

Computer neck is an existing word btw 👆

🪑💻Long hours sitting, phone posture, stress, training, driving, overthinking… all can make this area tight without you even noticing. And when these muscles become tense, it may contribute to headaches, neck stiffness, jaw tension, dizziness, or that heavy “pressure” feeling in the head.

isn’t occipital release one of the best parts of massage therapy? 💆Neck, shoulder, head and face! Love them all.

I want ANSWERS! How can you do? Without massage or physio? 👀 maybe I should know the answer as massage therapist but i don’t 🤷‍♀️
During the triathlon preparation my body said several times: STOP ✋ got pain not only in my triceps due to swimming but in my upper traps due to cycling and that tension went straight up to my head. Massage of course always helped and kept me going.

BUT how 🫵 you do? Because I don’t think you spend much of a time with foam rolling, stretching or relaxing in hot bath 🛀
