Good morning.

Every week, someone discovers ReTribe because they're looking for support.

Sometimes it's a player struggling with confidence after an injury.

Sometimes it's a parent trying to help their child through a difficult season.

Sometimes it's a coach looking for a different way to communicate.

Sometimes it's an official dealing with criticism.

Sometimes it's someone navigating retirement from the game, career uncertainty, financial pressures, education choices, legal or insurance questions, or simply trying to find their feet again.

The common thread is this.

Nobody should have to face these challenges alone.

That's why we built the ReTribe app.

Not as another social media platform, but as a place where the hockey community can learn, grow and support one another.

The app is free for individuals because we believe everyone in hockey should have access to trusted support, regardless of their circumstances.

Inside the app you'll find:

• Expert articles, videos and practical tools.
• Sports psychology and performance resources.
• Goal setting to help build positive habits.
• Live events, workshops and community discussions.
• Trusted information for players, coaches, officials, parents and volunteers.
• Peer to peer support from people who have lived the experience.

Over the years our community has helped one another through career transitions, concussion recovery, injury rehabilitation, mental health challenges, addiction recovery, bereavement, education decisions, coaching and officiating pressures, financial concerns, insurance and legal questions, and many of life's challenges away from the rink.

Sports organisations, clubs and governing bodies can also licence ReTribe as part of their duty of care to the people they support. This provides their members with a safe, trusted environment where players, coaches, officials and volunteers can access support in confidence. ReTribe does not share personal conversations or individual engagement with organisations, except where required by law or safeguarding responsibilities.

No one person has all the answers.

Together, our community has experienced almost every challenge the game can throw at us.

This is Hayden Thorsen.
Hayden had a simple habit. He would tap his teammates on the shoulder to check they were OK.
After Hayden died by su***de in 2022, his dad Rob turned that small gesture into the Shoulder Check Showcase.
This year more than 25 NHL players, over 2,500 fans and 200 volunteers came together around one simple message.
Reach out. Check in. Make contact.
Before the puck dropped, everyone in the arena put a hand on the shoulder of the person beside them and said those words together.
Mental health is one of the biggest challenges facing people in our sport. It is also one of the reasons we built ReTribe.
We want to give people the tools to make better decisions, so as not to hurt themselves or others.
Sometimes that starts with having somewhere to turn. Somewhere to find useful tools, honest stories and people who understand.
Sometimes it starts with a message, a phone call or a hand on the shoulder.

The new ReTribe website is now live.

ReTribe has grown from a simple idea into a support and growth network for players, coaches, officials and parents across ice hockey.

The new website brings everything together in one place. You can learn more about our app, Tribes of accountability, Tough Through Tender, workshops, retreats, the ReTribe Podcast and opportunities for clubs and organisations to work with us.

Our mission is to support the person behind the performer, help everyone maximise their experience in the game, and provide zero cost to user information, tips and practical tools through the ReTribe app.

Hockey is expensive enough already. Access to useful support should not be another burden.

𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗨𝗟 𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗛𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 🤍

We’ve needed a little time to process the heartbreaking news of Paul’s passing. Like so many across the hockey community, it has hit us hard.

Paul will be remembered by many for his achievements on the ice, but more importantly for the person he was away from it… a father, partner, teammate, friend and someone who genuinely cared about the people around him.

Only days before his passing, Paul was helping organise tickets for local youth clubs to attend the Hull Alumni Charity Game. He believed in giving back and in the power of hockey to bring people together. Those are values that sit at the heart of ReTribe.

Our thoughts are with Paul’s family, his friends, teammates and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

If there’s one thing we can all take from moments like this, it’s to check in with the people around us. Send the message, make the call and have the conversation, you never know how much it might mean.

Our Mission: Support Without Adding Another Cost

Our mission is to provide the hockey community with information, tips and practical tools at zero cost to the user.

The app is here to help people navigate the ever changing world of hockey and the challenges that come with it. It is not only for difficult times. It is also designed to help people optimise performance, grow personally and maximise their experience in this great game.

Hockey is already expensive enough. The last thing we want to do is place another financial burden on players and, especially, parents.

This is for you.

Over the last few days, you may have seen some of the testimonials from people ReTribe has supported. For years, we have delivered that support through WhatsApp, Facebook and Zoom. The ReTribe app now brings everything together in one dedicated place.

Rather than searching through the noise of social media, people can access purposeful information, tools, events and support within an app created by hockey people, for the hockey community.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already signed up for the Hull Alumni Game. We genuinely appreciate your support. Every penny raised will go towards the remaining payments due on the app.
