Novy Dvory Concept 🥉 in details
CMCA + UPSTRUCTURE qualified, in a very competitive field of 14 top Czech & international architects, to compete for the Block 6 at NOVY DVORY PDS city development in Prague 4.

Our collaboration won 3rd prize, bringing exciting notions of mixed, rental living types creating a 'quarter within a quarter.' Novy Dvory is a massive urban expansion & regeneration of this southeast zone of Prague's 4th district, just on the edge of the city. Key to the PDS development succeeding is of course the new metro station and the street continuity in this new part of Prague 4.

Our collaboration focused on the quality, variety and cultivation of public and semi-public spaces, the park-like atmosphere in the courtyards and the visual variety of residential building types. CMCA+UPSTRUCTURE proposed here an exciting, rhythmic skyline, generated from the proposed massing of our blocks, accented by towers. The overriding architectural concept was typological expression, modularity, and the flexibility of prefabricated construction systems in city-owned rental housing.

Sport, landscape and the city meet in one place.
Hajnovka is conceived as an open and lively sports landscape — a place for organised sport, everyday movement and informal encounters.

Its architecture grows from the needs of the athletes, while remaining connected to the wider city and its surroundings. The complex follows the lines of the transport infrastructure, softening them through landscape and public space.
A place built for movement, shaped by the landscape, and open to everyone.

RADIMSKÝ MLÝN, KOLÍN — a walk across the site before the greenery arrives.

Five buildings, 266 homes and an underground garage with more than fifty parking spaces open to the public. The buildings are turned perpendicular to the Elbe so the site stays open and walkable, with a promenade and a pier planned along the water. The historic mill that gave the project its name, known locally as the Podskalský mill, will be reconstructed with a café inside.
