Our hearts are full after yet another amazing night at our Cuvéest pop-up wine bar in Charlottenburg. We are so humbled and happy that this project grew so beautifully from just a coffee meeting on the sidewalk into a truly heartfelt project.

We are also so happy to be able to bring the best of our love for wine and hospitality to our neighborhood, where there is not a single wine bar, not to mention one with focus on Eastern Europe. And we are stoked to see so many returning customers month after month, and amongst them so many of our neighbors.

We are very thankful for the team that we are, and we cannot wait to be back on July 10th for our one-year anniversary. Stay tuned, it will be epic!

Love,

Next stop: , and a really beautiful deep dive into German sparkling wine with Christian, Anna and the Krack family.

Founded in 2015 by Christian together with his brothers Felix and Axel, the estate focuses entirely on traditional-method Winzersekt, continuing the family’s long connection to sparkling wine production in the Pfalz.

It was especially interesting to taste through the wines while learning why they choose to work mainly with vintage Sekt instead of non-vintage cuvées. Every bottle felt connected to a specific growing season and vineyard expression, with a lot of precision but also a very relaxed and honest approach to winemaking.

We tasted through different styles and ageing profiles during a very relaxed barbecue lunch in the garden: good food, sunshine, long conversations and a perfect atmosphere to really understand the wines and the philosophy behind them.

Another amazing visit thanks to .suff Berlin.

We’re continuing our Pfalz and Rheinhessen trip series with , the three brothers Philipp and Lukas Seckinger, and one of the key names shaping the modern Pfalz scene.

We tasted 14 wines, moving through an impressive range of parcels and vintages. What stood out again is how detailed and fragmented the region is: different soils, exposures and sites expressing themselves very clearly within a relatively small area.

More and more, it feels clear that the Pfalz is becoming the Burgundy of Germany for us, not in style, but in structure: site-driven, complex, and built around very defined origins.

Even with slightly tired palates, it remained a focused and engaging tasting, with plenty of moments where choosing a favorite was almost impossible.

We loved being on tour with .suff . Stay tuned for our upcoming posts about the other wineries we visited.

AURA is my new home in Bucharest, and I’ve been telling you about this project ever since September 2025. I feel truly humbled and happy that my good friend and colleague challenged me to build his wine program for his new home and restaurant: .bucharest

It finally opened its doors about a month ago, and it has been a real challenge indeed. Building a wine list that is ambitious but still feels familiar to the public, understanding the way a completely different market (Bucharest) works compared to my daily reality (Berlin), balancing my personal wine beliefs and preferences with local customer expectations, staying true to the Balkan wine lover in me while still listing must-haves from the European wine world, and finding the right glassware, price points and staff training rhythm.

I am super proud of the 75 labels ready to be enjoyed at AURA, with 11 wines by the glass to fit with the Chapter 1 menu (including some of my current favourite Balkan winemakers), and about 20 labels categorised as “Black Book” (our special and ever-changing rarity list). Baby steps for what I hope will be years of wine collecting.

May 14th marked my first evening service with our growing team, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be surrounded by curious and friendly colleagues. It was a pleasure to move between the tables and receive positive feedback from one of our regular guests, all of it adding to a huge motivation to keep going. Not to mention my husband and father were there to support.

This is not an exaggeration of how much I love my work. I truly do, with all its challenges, ups and downs, midnight calls, and back pain. It was a pleasure to wear my WSET3 pin, and I cannot wait to do it again (and hopefully in one year replace it with a WSET4 one).

See you in service on June 19th!

Love,
your Ramona from Romania

What a discovery, : a tasting marathon with .groehl and .mercedes.maurer that slowly turned into one of those afternoons you don’t really want to end.

We are starting our series presenting the wineries we visited in Rheinhessen and Pfalz with a family estate rooted in 1625, today run by Johannes and Franziska Gröhl together with their parents and Johannes’ partner Melissa.

It was a really beautiful experience to discover different Rieslings from their different plots alongside their sparkling wines, all showing the precision and clarity of the estate’s style, while stories about the family history and the evolution of the winery unfolded between glasses.

What I still cannot forget is the 2022 Pettenthal Riesling: herbal, minty, super fresh, almost like an Aufguss infusion in the best possible way.

And just when we thought we were done, an incredible six-course lunch followed, prepared by a very talented local chef. One of those meals you wish would never end.

Grateful that we can always find their wines through .suff in Berlin, and looking forward to opening another bottle together very soon.
