PSYCHOLOGY SESSION
We’re talking about the first Intrapsychic conflict!
Dependency vs. Individuation
This conflict expresses itself over the course of one’s life through the recurring themes of *having to be alone* versus *having to be together*.
Similar to how people speak about chakras as being “excessive” or “deficient”, each conflict has an active and a passive mode, indicating how an individual deals with the questions life offers regarding a specific theme (here: dependency vs. individuation).
The passive mode experiences the conflict as something that happens to you; the active mode experiences it as something you make happen yourself.
e.g. Someone who stays in an unhappy relationship because being alone feels unbearable (passive), versus someone who ends relationships as soon as they start feeling ‘too close,’ before they can become dependent on anyone (active).
For a more detailed description read the comment section 😈
Are you currently leaning towards the active or the passive pole ?
