I would like to extend my gratitude to Astris PME and my fellow traveler for sharing her valuable insights on navigating life in a wheelchair for 48 hours. In summary, key takeaways include:
⏰ requiring an additional 30 minutes for all activities,
♿️wheelchair access signs not always guaranteeing accessibility but rather indicating potential complexity,
🔩the need to carry extra parts to account for potential missing nuts and bolts,
there is a genuine fatigue that arises from consistently encountering complications and extended timelines.
🚙Parking spots are excellent and very handy
And our favourites for the expo were Warren McDonald, the permobil standing chair, wheelchair propelling techniques and training, and the new wheelchair rims with easy brakes from Eppur called Skeed!
