Isangs is a hair and body care line with a refreshingly simple approach: We use organic, fairly traded, and vegan ingredients. All our products are handmade here in Copenhagen and we use only sustainable and recyclable packaging. With Isangs, you get high quality products at fair prices. Isangs is a combined shop and production space where we create our unique line of hair and body care products using quality ingredients. Each of our recipes is carefully developed by us blending traditional craftmanship with modern chemistry. We infuse and press extracts and make all products in our open production space. This way you get a chance to get a little closer to the whole process. We put a lot of emphasis on giving customers a great experience and providing lots of information about our products, processes, ingredients.

Buuut…

😧 Like many guest workers, pigeons were brought here to perform essential labor, then discarded when we no longer needed their services.

😧 Now they’re seen as, at best, an inconvenience and, at worst, pests to be eradicated, reduced to surviving on scraps and making do with whatever shelter they can find.

😧 Ugh, the history of anything really is the history of everything.

🤫 Here’s the true story of how soap removes dirt…

🤨 Most of what we consider dirt are greasy substances that are not easily dissolved in water.

🫧 And that’s where soap comes in…

🫧 A soap molecule is shaped a bit like a tadpole with a tail that is non-polar (attracted to oil) and heads that are polar (attracted to water)

🫧 When soapy water come in contact with dirt, the tails of the soap molecule attach to the dirt, while the heads are pulled out into water. This breaks dirt apart.

🫧 And then, soap molecules arrange themselves into tiny spheres called micelles with the dirt trapped in the center along with the tails and only the heads facing outward along with the water.

🫧 This allows it to float and be dissolved and washed away with water, carrying the dirt along with it. 

🫧 The second thing soap does, is it reduces the surface tension of water. When soap is added to water, it loosens the bonds of attraction between water molecules basically making water behave more fluid. So it can spread out more easily and get into crack and crevices to remove dirt.
