Upcoming workshop in Berlin 💕

The Wheel of Consent© for Bodyworkers

On the 21st of October, I will have the pleasure to collaborate with my friend and colleague Natasha Kuzmina on a 3 hour workshop tailored exclusively for Bodyworkers and people working with touch.

In this 3-hour workshop, we will explore the Wheel of Consent© – a framework and a tool developed by Dr. Betty Martin for understanding consent, boundaries, and desires in all relationships. Originally made by and for professionals working with touch.

We aim to refine our listening skills, recognize body’s subtle signals, and prevent burnout.

To deepen our capacity to support clients, we need a clear connection to ourselves. This includes awareness of our own physical boundaries and needs. The clearer we are with ourselves, the more effectively we can show up for others without burnout.

This September finds me working for soulspa Mykonos.

A last-minute decision led me to spend the whole month on the island where I am giving sessions of massage (deep tissue, relaxing, foot massage), and Craniosacral Biodynamics.

Soulspa is hosted at two beautiful spots, at Hippy_Fish and Alemagou Mykonos

-What touch do I want to receive now from this person? Can I ask for it?
-What touch am I willing to offer to this person now? Can I give it wholeheartedly?
-Am I willing to give any kind of touch to this person now? If not, am I able to say it?
-Can I stop a touch that started as pleasant but its not pleasant anymore? Or ask for this small change that would make it really wonderful?-

It has been several months since I have relocated to Athens and my home country, after 10 years living in DK. It was a well thought choice without this making it any less of a shocking experience.
As I am slowly creating my base here, I am also slowly finding my language. The way of being as a Greek living in Greece, using Greek words and everything a language carries: our expressive means and our ways of thinking.

Within this process, I am also finding my creative language - my work language- since the moment I decided to aim for work that is creative. Creative as in: engaging myself as a whole- my insights, skills, embodied experience, everyday encounters, observations, intuition, and my wishes for what I would like to see different in this world.
I worked for several years in the creative industry without feeling creative at all.

While shaping this creative language (a process I also recognise as a privilege), I notice how everything interweaves. Separation is only useful for organising purposes.

End of sharing - back to the workshops.

The workshops as labs for exploring embodied communication using platonic touch, through the lens of the Wheel of Consent.
