I know that getting a “no” from a tattoo artist can be unpleasant and can leave you with many questions: What is wrong with my idea? Why doesn’t she want to do it❓

But I think there is something that can be even more disappointing. Imagine that you have been dreaming about a tattoo for a long time, and for you, getting it - is a whole event. And then it is done by an artist who is not really interested in making your idea look beautiful, who is not inspired by it, and simply doesn’t know how to make it work in the best way.

✨You deserve an artist who is almost as excited about your idea as you are. When an artist really feels your idea and is interested in making it, there is a much bigger chance that the final result will be great.

I decided to write this post because lately I have been saying “no” to people quite often, and I want to make one thing clear: there is nothing wrong with you or your idea.

It took me some time to become comfortable with being this honest. I can say no to a tattoo if I am not artistically interested in it, or if I feel that I cannot execute it at 100% of the quality I want to give you.

And even if it looks to you like I have already done something similar a hundred times, I have developed a very specific radar for understanding what is for me and what is not.

I hope you can understand my point of view 🤍
