Gaenslen’s Test

A simple clinical test used to provoke the sacroiliac (SI) joint and assess whether the patient’s familiar pain can be reproduced.

Remember: A positive test should reproduce the patient’s familiar pain, and it should be interpreted alongside other SI joint provocation tests.

Clarke’s Sign

Clarke’s Sign, also known as the Patellar Grind Test, is a clinical test used to assess patellofemoral pain and patellofemoral joint dysfunction.

Pain during quadriceps contraction with downward pressure on the patella may indicate a positive test.
Remember: it should not be used alone for diagnosis because its sensitivity and specificity are limited.

Adson’s Test

A simple clinical test used to assess for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), especially vascular compression at the scalene triangle.
But remember: a reduced radial pulse alone doesn’t confirm TOS.
