The consumer is oversaturated. So, what should brands prioritize?☝🏼

In health communication, relevance is no longer enough. Consumers are exposed to more information than ever—and brands have a responsibility to make that information clearer, more transparent and grounded in science.

Maria Matachana, Product Manager VMS at Nestlé, shares her perspective on the role of consumer trends, scientific evidence and brands in navigating today’s increasingly complex health landscape.

Because when information is everywhere, trust becomes the real differentiator.💡

Health marketing has a new challenge: earning trust.

Today, people have access to more health information than ever. But more information doesn’t always mean more clarity.

At Saniss 2026, industry leaders highlighted a common challenge: health brands need to communicate consistently, translate scientific evidence into understandable messages, and become reliable references in an increasingly saturated information landscape.

Technology will evolve. AI will accelerate.
But in health communication, credibility will remain human.

💡Where do you find inspiration when you need to unlock an idea?
The best thing you can do is stop looking for it too hard. Once I have absorbed a brief, I try to let it go and allow it to stay somewhere in the back of my mind. That is when ideas tend to arrive on their own, often when you least expect them: in bed before falling asleep, on the walk to work, in the shower, or during a conversation with friends or family. Inspiration is usually not about forcing a solution, but about giving your mind enough space to make unexpected connections.

💡What is your favorite creative ritual?
Swimming. It is a kind of reset for me. The rhythm of swimming clears away the noise and gives thoughts room to settle. I do not go into the water expecting to solve a brief, but it is often where an idea becomes simpler, clearer or finally starts to make sense.

💡 What was the main creative challenge you had to solve for the project?

We had a lot of data on care, the people involved, economic and social impact... Each figure was more powerful than the one before it. Showing that data would have been enough.

But when there is so much to tell an audience that’s already immunized to data, we needed a story. One capable of making the complex simple. And, above all, memorable.

At Grow we are convinced that memory is directly related to emotional activation. That’s why we work with a universal idea that doesn’t need to be explained a job you can’t refuse.

How? Even more important. Not telling it, but discovering the message, and exposing it as a slap of reality: someday, we will most likely need to care for a family member and sacrifice parts of our work, social, and personal life.

💡 What’s your favorite creative ritual?
The ritual begins long before we sit in front of the brief. It is not where or when, because a very important point for me is to fill your head with references, stories, experiences, conversations over some beers, songs, books, trips... That is the creative material with which ideas will be formed later.

The day that Chat GPT can come to the bar, drink a beer and talk about creativity with me [is the day Chat GPT can compete with me]. To be a good creative you have to live in the world. This requires getting away from screens from time to time and activating social empathy. And it continues with the brief, a team of creatives, strategists with concerns, and these three questions:

1. What the customer needs to communicate
2. What the world needs (society, patients, stakeholders...)
3. How do we tell it to make it relevant?

We have been reflecting on this [our ritual] for some time, and it’s not based on the intention, but on our experiences. We put the demand on ourselves to make a positive impact on the environment, through our work and as individuals. We have called this Creative Consciousness.

When creativity meets purpose, the impact goes beyond the campaign. 💙

For Cristina Tello, Agency CEO, Lidia Martínez, Account Director at MKA, and Sergio López from Novo Nordisk, the experience was built on something essential: a strong connection between agency and client.

A collaboration described as incredible, easy, interesting and creative — leading to a result that was not only well received, but also recognized.

Because in health communication, impact isn’t an option. It’s the purpose.

Creating work that generates a positive impact on society is what makes health creativity truly meaningful.

Creativity that moves people. Creativity that makes a difference. Creativity that impacts health.

👉🏼When did you realize this campaign had the potential to become something special?
This is an idea that came out of a conversation with Albert Buisan, the agency’s Creative Director. And, as often happens, our gut was the first to tell us there was something good there.

However, we really started to realize that our instinct was on the right track when we shared the idea with the people behind the “Siempre Acompañados” program, who know firsthand the reality of older people experiencing loneliness. They were immediately excited about it, and their insights and contributions helped the idea grow.

That’s when we knew we had something special.

✨What is your favorite creative ritual?
Writing. Although, more than a ritual, it’s a necessity. I need to write in order to think.

It’s incredibly difficult to do in my day-to-day role, since I spend most of my time in meetings. But whenever I really need to focus or we’re facing a problem that we haven’t been able to solve, I start writing—wherever I am and whoever I’m with.
