If you’ve ever felt intimidated by the idea of a circuit class, I want to show you just how simple and welcoming it really is. I snapped this photo right before my session on Monday to show you what a typical setup looks like 🏋️‍♂️✨

As you can see below, there are no complicated machines or overwhelming gym setups in my class. It’s just a clear, open space with simple stations marked out on the floor. But don’t be fooled - the workout can be as taxing as you want to make it and yields great results. My class have all progressed so much in the last few months 💕

Here is exactly what you need to know:

🔹 What is it?
A circuit usually consists of 8 to 10 different stations. Each station focuses on a specific exercise for a set amount of time. Once the timer goes off, you take a quick rest and move on to the next station until you've completed the full circle (and we’ll repeat it three times)!

🔹 What do you work?
It is a full-body workout designed to keep things interesting. A standard circuit will target your lower body, upper body, and core, while also mixing in some cardio to get your heart rate up.

🔹 Why it matters for your future:
Beyond just breaking a sweat, the strength-building elements in a circuit are a form of future protection for your body. Building strength now protects your joints, improves your bone density, and ensures you maintain your mobility and independence as you get older. Plus it’s great fun, and ensures you carve out some time for yourself which in its own right is beneficial!

🔹 Who is it for?
Absolutely everyone! You do not need any prior experience to join a class. The best part about circuit training is that every single exercise can be scaled up or down. Whether you want to use heavier weights, lighter weights, or just your own body weight, you get to move entirely at your own pace.

If you’ve been thinking about trying a new way to move your body but were worried it might be too daunting, let this be your reminder that it’s just a welcoming space ready for you to try your best.

Who's ready to invest in their future health? 💪

Really excited to be meeting some old friendly faces and new ones in my Pram Fit class tomorrow.

Had a little go at the class this morning (looking slightly bonkers without a Pram) but it’s all in the name of good programming 🤪

There’s a couple of spaces free tomorrow still if you’re interested, or know someone who might be 🥰

💥 SWITCHING IT UP: COMBAT IS COMING TO HIIT! 💥

I’m shaking things up in my next HIIT class by throwing some explosive combat cardio into the mix 🥊 Think rapid-fire jabs, power uppercuts, and fierce knee drives to front kicks.

Why I am adding the punch?

Upper Body Endurance: whilst we usually focus on more lower body plyometric exercises, this gives your shoulders, arms, and core a serious burn without touching a single weight.

Heart Rate Spikes: Non-stop movement to keep you firmly in that fat-burning cardio zone.

Fresh Variation & Fun: Breaking away from the usual routine to keep your mind engaged, your body guessing, and the energy going ⚡️

Check out a sneak peek of a couple of the new moves in the video - who's ready to try something a bit different? 👇

Drop a 🥊 in the comments or message me to join the next session.

One singular shift has changed my whole outlook on running…

Here are my reasons, in order, for running:

1) Mental happiness (that’s headspace and clarity - not being happy because I think I’m impacting my body shape!)
2) Heart health 💕
3) Weight maintenance and body composition NOW HERE’S THE SHIFT*
4) Fresh Air
5) The views 🏞️

* This singular shift has changed everything - I now, after nearly 20years, enjoy running because my reasons for running have changed. I’m not running for aesthetic reasons, I am running for enjoyment, mental health, and overall health. I won’t lie - it’s still top 3 but at least I enjoy it now and it’s not a chore.

Living a life free of restriction is the most sustainable health approach. How you get there matters.

Consistency not complexity is key.

Whether it is at home, or in the gym - it’s still a workout right? ✅ There’s no extra points gained, calories burnt or minutes added just because you’ve walked through a gym door. It’s not for everyone (I admit - I like the vibe but that’s my preference).

The sun Is shining and there’s nothing better than some Vitamin D and a workout ☀️💪

I’m lucky enough to have a range of weights to select from - but here’s a 35-40min workout with just 3 different weight selections. You can also build a great workout from just one weight selection too (or no weights but that’s for a different post!)

How much would you spend on a takeaway? Maybe think about buying a single set of weights for home instead! If it feels heavy for an exercise - work for 6-8 reps. If it feels light, go for some muscular endurance and go for 12-15 reps. Working until fatigue creeps in is the key 🙌

Wanting to win - or wanting to have fun. Or perhaps wanting to do both? All are equally awesome and acceptable goals 🙌💕

Having fun and winning at ‘living well’ is my goal ✅

When preparing to run bare foot in the Mums race at sports day today (for added speed), It was mentioned to me that ‘it’s just for fun’.

It made me think and I wholeheartedly agree - but I am also not ashamed to be competitive. I always have been, and I always will be. I don’t think that will ever leave me. And that’s cool - I like it.

Have I not done things before because I think I won’t do well - yes. I’m not proud of that and it’s something I have been training myself to address for general life hurdles 🤯

But It’s also not just about being competitive, it’s about knowing how well you can do something - and wanting to do your best. This doesn’t just have to be with sport - it’s for life. We tell our girls all the time - ‘just do your best’. That feeling should never leave you.

I now have the tools to do my best at ‘living well’ so I can live a healthy life for as long as possible for my family and loved ones. So that’s what I now want to win at 🏅

Proud to follow in my father Richard Bellwood’s footsteps some 30+ years later, on the other side of 40, wearing jeans, and bringing home the win in the parents (mums) race 🏆

(Sharing because no kids can really be made out in the video so I don’t think I’m breaking any rules 😬)
