I used to think I was just an impatient person. Turns out I was an underfed one.
The snapping at bedtime. The losing it over a glass of water. The trying so hard to be calm and kind and failing at the exact moment it mattered most. I thought that was just me.
It wasn't me. It was coffee on an empty stomach and a body running on nothing since 7am.
Here's what actually changed it.
1 — Food before caffeine. Coffee on an empty stomach spikes your blood sugar, which then crashes, and that crash is exactly when you lose it. Eat first. Every single time.
2 — Make it so easy you'd do it half asleep. I don't like eating in the morning. So I needed something quick, delicious, and done. No forcing down a disgusting protein bar. Something I'd actually do every single day without thinking.
3 — Protein first thing. When your body has what it needs in the morning, the bill doesn't come due at bedtime.
The patience you're looking for isn't a personality trait you need to develop. It's a chemistry problem you need to solve.
