Let’s talk about ABA Therapy

22/03/2026

Not every session is about structured activities, motor goals, or functional tasks. Sometimes children arrive carrying so much sensory overload and anxiety that the most therapeutic thing we can offer is a calm space.

A dark room. A gentle rhythm. A quiet moment to slow the pace of their minds.

Before we can ask their brains to learn, coordinate, or regulate, we first need to help them feel safe enough to simply be.

Sometimes therapy means reducing the noise, lowering the demands, and allowing the nervous system to reset, so they can return to their chaotic world with a little more calm inside.

I’m conducting a study on the clinical observations of occupational therapists regarding the effect of vestibular stimulation on communicative behaviors in children with ASD, Global Developmental Delay… who have limited or absent oral language. If you work (or have worked) with these children, your perspective matters.
