We're ready to pitch!

Again some great expert meetings today! First we took some big leaps with our production plan and brand development with help of amazing Heikki Laaninen. Heikki is a former expert for Rovio and is now helping big Finnish brands go global, just what we needed!

The afternoon spent with a smokers support group and worked our method even further by the help of the target user themselves. Great comments and ideas!

Now a few hours break and then back to pitch practices... Only three days left!!

Amazing start for the final week of 4UNI!! First pitching for the ThinkCo Fund and then closing the day with a team night. By the way it was Hank's first time in a pub, getting those dance moves ready for Friday!

Lastly let us introduce the ”not so serious” business mind of our team!

Meet Hanna! She studies sustainable business at the university of Tampere but is excited about her new hometown Helsinki. Hanna is an enthusiastic brainstormer and enjoys meeting new inspiring people.

Along with being part of Hank’s team Hanna is writing her masters thesis and working as a research assistant. She is also an artisan of clothing and she is the one who crafted our first pilot version of Hank!

Hanna is really attached to Hank because he causes amusement everywhere we go with him. “Hank is the best ice breaker and makes people smile!”

Hanna is excited and proud of our team. “I love the diversity of us! Everybody puts out something special to the table. I am constantly amazed by the new ideas and commitment of the team!”

Yesterday our team members had a heart-warming meeting with MD, PhD Pekka Puska. Dr. Puska is known for his expertize and contribution to public health and policy, and has had a significant influence on Finnish public health research and practice for several decades. He has been Director General of the National Institute for Health and Welfare (Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin laitos THL) as well as director for NCD prevention and health promotion at the World Health Organization (WHO).

The meeting was encouraging and Dr Puska liked our idea! Thank you Pekka, Hank's friends are looking forward to keep in touch with you!

Yet another enthusiastic member of our team, Amir Zein brings us perspective from abroad! After having lived most of his life in the United States, Amir moved to Finland in 2011. Along with limited studies in college-level economics and civil engineering, Amir has settled in studying seafaring at a university of applied sciences in Kotka.

Amir is our to-go figure for tasks involving especially proficient English. He also has a great fascination with technology of all sorts, and hobbies include the building and designing of many fascinating contraptions. Amir loves the tangibility of our product and has been entrusted with solving some of the technical requirements of Hank.

Our team is clearly unique and diverse. Amir has a different kind of approach in mindset, that comes from his exposure to a different kind of culture. This is is a resource that we have definately used to our advantage!

Time to meet another member of our dynamic team!

Wanting to mix hard science, economic and political thinking drove Pinja into studying forestry business, and the field has turned out to be exactly the thing to excite her both analytical and creative mind. Pinja loves to challenge herself and is always eager to step on to new territories, and creating and developing Hank’s friends has been yet another great opportunity to do that.

Besides of being part of Hank’s friends Pinja is involved in various projects and student activities. As an active person she enjoys dancing and sports, especially outdoorsy ones. Meeting exiting people and acquiring new experiences is what drives her.

Pinja’s favorite thing about Hank is its fresh approach to getting rid of your vices. It’s simple, fun and easy, and most importantly, it activates your own strength to do what you’ve decided. You already have what it takes to stick to your goal to quit, Hank is there only to enable you. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?

In the team behind Hank’s friends every member brings something different to the table, but Pinja’s favorite thing about it is still everyone’s ability to get excited about Hank’s friends over and over again, despite the inevitable obstacles faced occasionally. This shows that each member of the team has solid trust in Hank!

Hey there, we hope your week has started amazingly!
Next in the introductions is the "serious" member of the team, who constantly analyses the strategy and opportunities and risks involved.

Meet Paula. Paula Pirinen is a 21-year-young[sic!] law student pursuing her degree at University Helsinki. Paula is a goal-oriented person who enjoys meeting new people and sharing ideas.

Outside of being one of Hank's friends (and studying) Paula spends her time being an active member in organisations, such as volunteering for Zonta International and being board member at Coalition Party Helsinki district. She has gained 3 years of start-up experience, when working for Blueprint Genetics, Growflow and Innokampus. A former competing synchronized skater, Paula also loves running and working out at gym.

Paula loves Hank, because the idea and concept are simple, yet extremely utile and can help people towards healthier lives. She says working in the project has been exciting, as it asks her to put skills acquired from studies and previous experiences to use. Furthermore, developing Hank is highly intellectually stimulating and requires constant creative thinking.

According to Paula, working with Hank's friends team has been superb. There's no challenge the team cannot tackle, and Hank's friends always come up with fresh ideas. What is more, the diversity of members makes for a super dynamic team!

First up on our teams introductions is the behavior brain of our team!

So meet Rosa! She is a 22year old social psychology student from Helsinki. Rosa is an out going and fast paced girl who's favourite words are brainstorming and didgeridoo.

Outside of being part of Hank Team Rosa is an active member in student organizations of Social scienses and she also does voluteer work with special needed scout kids.

Rosa's favourite thing about our friend Hank is the goofyness of him. Rosa thinks that not too many good things come out of intimidation and commands. Change should be a funny and a positive thing and this is something that Hank is an expert at!

Rosa's feelings towards our team are bubbly and excited. "I love the fact that there is not one member on our team that could come up with the same idea as the other one! It's super exciting how we are so different from one another but still we come together and create something wacky and cool"
