Asking for help!

I have a NYC rent overcharge case that's been open since 2017. I'm owed thousands of dollars, possibly triple that due to the fraud that took place. If you have a good tenant lawyer recommendation or know someone who has dealt with this before, please let me know! Or just a share, comment, repost would also be greatly appreciated! ❤️

I had this idea to gather friends who also work for themselves, and do our own version of a work retreat.

It can get lonely working by yourself and I wanted to go somewhere surrounded by nature, where we could relax and explore while bouncing ideas off of each other, collaborating and just have space to get creative.

My friend found the perfect little cottage in a town called Gex, near Lake Geneva. It looked straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie, and absolutely the perfect place for us. Just what I had dreamt about.

We cooked, sat by the fire pit almost every night, told stories and genuinely just took a breather from daily life. It was so amazing and an absolute gift to be surrounded by friends on the same path as me - building our careers and lives in a way that values balance and creativity, curiosity and collaboration.

Striking out on your own can be scary, but the friendships you form and grow along the way are priceless. There’s a special kind of camaraderie amongst small business owners and solopreneurs that I’ve been so happy to discover. Everyone is figuring it out as they go, always in search of growth and fulfillment. It’s really inspiring, and I’ve found that if you’re open to connecting, it won’t be long before you find your tribe.

Still in a barely decorated apartment, but at least I’m keeping the plants alive 🪴

Life is a lot slower these days and much more suited for my nervous system. 10 months in to living in Paris and Brinkley and I have adjusted pretty well! It was a 🔥 summer so we’re soaking up as much of the early fall weather that we can.

Working from home is comfortable but I’ve been feeling the need to get out lately, so have been trying to find some new favorite coffee shops.

I’ve also managed to find an amazing group of friends, feeling so supported in my new city. I think that’s one of the biggest fears people have about moving to a new place, possibly not being able to re-find your tribe. That’s honestly where FB groups and a little bit of courage can shine, so my experience is to not let that fear hold you back.

If I’ve learned anything over the past few months, it’s if you’re feeling called somewhere or to make a change - do what you can and just go for it. As someone who had been dreaming of this season for so long, and changed my entire life around in order to make it happen, the sacrifices and uncertainty have been worth it ❤️
