HOMEOPATHY FOR CONJUNCTIVITIS:

•Ferrum phos / Arsenic

In the initial stages as soon as the symptoms are noticed
Generally this may abort the condition.

•Belladonna

Redness of eyes increases; pain, intolerance to light

•Euphrasia

Eyes water all the time - burning excoriating discharge; swelling of the eyelids with burning and sticky mucus

•Pulsatilla / Kali sulph

In the sub-acute stage, when there is thick yellow discharge. No burning.

•Argentum Nitricum

If there is no relief with the above medicines. Yellow discharge continues with burning.

•Merc sol.

Discharge profuse and acrid, watering of eyes, agglutination (sticking of eye lids), heat in eyes, intolerance of light and cannot open eyes (feels pain)

•Rhus tox

Burning sensation in the eyes with marked swelling and redness of eyelids. The eyes may also feel heavy and achy.

James Tyler Kent (31/03/1849 - 05/06/1916) was an American physician and a forefather of modern homeopathy. He is said to have contributed as much as Hahnemann to homeopathy.

Dr. Kent proved many new medicines, which he described in his book: 'New Remedies, Clinical Cases, Lesser Writings, Aphorisms and Precepts'.

Dr. Kent was famous for teaching Materia Medica. He taught Materia Medica at the Homoeopathic Medical College of St. Louis, from 1881-88, at the School of Homoeopathy, Philadelphia from 1890-99, at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital, Chicago from 1903-9, and Hering Medical College Hospital.

Students from England, European countries, India and other parts of the world sought admission to the institution where he taught the subject. Sir John Weir, A.H. Grimmer, Pierre Schmidt, B.K. Bose, and other famous homoeopaths from all over the world were his disciples. He was the President and Trustee of Chicago Homoeopathic Hospital.
