What is your favorite month for making picnics? Mine is September. Just bringing a piece of bread and some fine cheese or smoked sausage in a field still softly covered with wild flowers is bringing so much peace to my soul. I love to use my handmade stone or marble boards from . They’re not only beautiful but also so much cleaner than the plastic or wooden ones.

Simplicity is always best when it comes to food. This has become my favorite dish ever lately. When I make chicken broth, I cook it all day and in the evening I simply mix the cooled flesh with a little bit of love oil, capers, red onion and fresh coriander (or basil if you are a coriander hater). It tastes so fresh and healthy !

Un jour je vais l’écrire mon livre de recettes, je le dis souvent. En attendant, je vous conseille fortement celui-ci: Délicieusement digeste de Salomé Malou. Un livre avec des recettes sans allergènes donc sans gluten ni produits laitiers entre autres. Quand les restrictions alimentaires s’additionnent et qu’on ne sait plus quoi manger, ce livre est une bouffée de bonheur!

Happy New Year ! As a bright sun woke me up this morning I’ve been thinking 2022 looked very promising.

My wishes for this year are to cook, to help people heal with food, to publish a new cookbook, to photograph, to travel but also to stay home and watch my chickens in the backyard and the wildflowers bloom at home. May this year be rich in accomplishments and happiness for all of you too.

Yule log cake is a traditional Christmas dessert in Belgium and it is usually made with a sponge cake. 3 years ago, I came up with the idea of combining a meringue roll with a mocha semifreddo filling and to top it all with caramel and roasted maple syrup pecans... No need to say this has been our favourite Christmas dessert ever since. The process may be a little long and that's why I make it only once a year but it's not complicated and the result is so much worth it !

You can even make it dairy-free if you follow the recipe of my dairy-free semifreddo for the filling.

You can also fill it with chocolate mousse, and top it with chocolate sauce and fresh raspberries.

I’m back ! I did not quit cooking, I simply had no time for photographing and posting… 
But I’ve got some big news guys ! Some cool event is taking place soon and you’ll know more about it asap. In the meantime, let me drop this wonderful fall recipe. Could you guess it’s dairy-free ? You can’t even taste the difference from a real Semifreddo ! This Italian dessert is soft and melts in the mouth with a sweet coffee flavor, some caramel on top and maple syrup toasted pecan nuts… Wether you choose to make it with real cream or coconut cream, this rather light dessert will be unforgettable. 

- 4 eggs 
- 1/3 cup instant coffee
- 100g sugar
- 300ml coconut cream (a can)

C’est en septembre et en octobre que mes dahlias épanouissent leurs plus belles fleurs. 

Le soleil bas roussit les pétales aux teintes de l’été indien d’un or chaleureux. Parfaits pour les bouquets champêtres où ils se mêlent à la fausse camomille et à mes derniers glaïeuls. 

Avez-vous déjà planté des dahlias ?

It is in September and October that my dahlias bloom most beautifully.

The low sun touches the petals in the warm hues of Indian summer with gold. I love to mix them in some flower arrangement with wildflowers and my last gladiolus.
