Nutrition and Sickle Cell Anaemia Hi warriors, i’m Vicky, I was born with an invisible illness (Sickle Cell Anemia)

I call us warri I love you all and wish you a healthier, happier life.

I started eating healthy and using nutritional supplements a while back and I had incredible results that helped manage my sickle cell anaemia better. I slept better, had no more joint pains, had more energy and I was excited to tell the world about it. I created this page because I found out that the healthcare professionals do not pay a lot of attention to how sickle cell patients nourish their

bodies. I did an opinion poll and someone told me this :

""Your haematologist's job is not to know how you eat. They only read your lab results and prescibe meds""

This statement opened my eyes and motivated me even more to help spread the word about the benefits of proper nutrition for sickle cell patients. On this page my friends and I will tell you all about what we eat, what supplements we take, how we nourish our bodies and what has and has not worked for us. We are not healthcare professionals, we are not specialists and we don't guarantee anything. What works for one person might not necessarily work for another as our bodies are different. However, what you will get is first hand stories from a fellow sickle cell warrior or caregiver on WHAT HAS WORKED FOR HIM OR HER. Finally i would like to end this introduction by encouraging you to have a positive atitude and keep a positive mindset. I have learnt that when you focus on the negative things they tend to get bigger. The benefits of keeping a positive mindset are beyond your wildest imagination. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

People who do not suffer from sickle cell may never truely understand the physical, psychological and emotional pains we warriors go through and that is quite acceptable to me. So I try as much as possible to create awareness about sickle cell disorder.
In other words, my awareness knows no boundaries. I suffer from this and I know what it feels like and what it is!. No exact words can explain the pains we go through, medical doctors cannot explain it, warriors cannot explain it . Its beyond words and human comprehension. The stress our parents, relatives , friends and those in relationships with sickle cell warriors go through, cannot be described.
I'm on my bed waiting for the day I will walk again. Creating awareness on this deadly blood disorder. Not because I want to be on my bed, but because I have been conditioned by sickle cell .Every day is a struggle to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. A day without pain is a good day
The battle is mine and mine alone. It can never be shared! The support is there but for now long? Sickle cell attacks every part of the body without notice. It comes really hard ,fierce like it's angry with you for something you are not aware of ..All you can do is cry, pray you get by with medications and look up to God. You become a tenant in your body because you have no control over it.
It decides when you are to be happy, healthy , to be in a good state of mind , to walk , sit down or sleep, even your appetite. It affects your job, relationships, education. It affects everything NEGATIVELY. We lost one of our own again yesterday and that is just the one I am aware of. Oh dear SICKLE CELL IS NASTY😭😭. What about those UNKNOWN WARRIORS?
Please talk to people, your friends, relatives , those unmarried, intending couples. Spread the word in churches, mosques, schools, your work places, market places,... wherever you can spread the word. We are tired of new born babies, having sickle cell disorder. We are tired of burying those already living with it
We are tired of pains and the hurt our loved ones go through, because of us.
We are shouting but people are not listening.
Love is not enough
Religious faith or belief is not enough
Lab results excuses are not enough. Go to 2 or more different labs to do your genotype testing.
YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE but dont LIVE IT BY HAVING CHILDEEN WITH SICKLE CELL ANAEMIA

What does a catapult (slingshot) have in common with handling setbacks:
1. Re-Plan
2. Re-Strategise
3. Try Again
4. Don't Give Up.

DON'T GIVE UP!!!
NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.
It might not all make sense now but it's out of the question that my warriors give up.

If life gives you lemons then make lemonade.
If life gives you onions, they will make you cry but take advantage of the pain and make onion rings.

Give it all that you've got but don't give up. 💪💪💪

Hello Warriors! Welcome to my journey, When I started my business page, I wanted to focus solely on Sickle cell anemia, mainly because of my health complications.

I then realized after using a nutritional supplement called reliv and seeing fantastic results in my blood work and overall health, that I would much rather share my journey with anyone who was in need of improving their nutrition.

Vicky's nutritional journey is about more than me having an invisible illness. It's about sharing my good, bad, and ugly as well as what has helped me to better my nutrition, in hopes of helping others do the same.
