There are a multitude of neurological conditions that can have an impact on seating and posture. Scoliosis affects 2-3% of children worldwide and is classified by the age of onset and the cause of the condition. Depending on the age of onset, scoliosis is described as infantile (0-3), juvenile (4-9) and adolescent (10-17).
When seating paediatric patients who have scoliosis, the chair should be able to accommodate the child both with and without adaptive bracing. Lateral supports may also play an important role, especially if the child has undergone surgery to correct the scoliosis and is recovering.
Pressure Care Management provide a range of seating that function to increase comfort, as well as help to ease daily life and potential recovery.
