Three for Tea! 🫖💕

What a lovely day out to the Durham Dales Centre with our Stoneleigh ladies, Audrey, Margaret and Joyce! 🌸

We had a wonderful wander around all the lovely craft shops, taking in the beautiful handmade goodies and finding a few little treasures along the way. 🛍️✨

Margaret even got a head start on her Christmas shopping! 🎄🎁 Joyce treated herself to a cute little ladybird magnet 🐞, and then it was time to refuel with some absolutely delicious toasties for dinner. 🥪☕

Lots of smiles, plenty of browsing and, most importantly, wonderful company. ❤️

A lovely day making more special memories together! 🌷

🧀🍷 Cheese & Wine Afternoon at Stoneleigh! 🍷🧀

What a lovely afternoon we had at Stoneleigh Care Home, sampling a delicious selection of cheeses, chutneys and, of course, a little wine! 😋

Margaret enjoyed discovering some new favourites, saying she had tried cheeses she’d never even heard of before! 🧀

Cathy certainly enjoyed the wine, telling us: “Two glasses, that’s my limit!” 🍷😂

There was lots of tasting, chatting and debating as everyone decided which cheeses, chutneys and wines were their favourites. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the experience together. ❤️

A very tasty afternoon all round! 🧀🍷🥰

🍌🍦 BANANA SPLIT DAY AT STONELEIGH! 🍦🍌

What better way to brighten up lunchtime than with a delicious banana split bar! 😍🍫🍬

Our residents enjoyed choosing their own toppings and creating some seriously impressive banana split masterpieces. From chocolate sauce and sweets to colourful sprinkles and plenty of ice cream, there was something for everyone! 🍌🍨

Margaret said: “That was absolutely delicious! I haven't had a banana split in years – I thoroughly enjoyed it!” ❤️

And Audrey agreed: “It was lovely being able to choose all the toppings. I think I may have put a little bit of everything on mine!” 😂🍭

There were plenty of smiles, plenty of chocolate sauce and, most importantly, empty plates all round! 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Banana Split Day so much fun. 💕🍌

💛🎶 A Beautiful Afternoon of Music at Stoneleigh 🎶💛

A huge thank you to the wonderful Michelle and her group from Christ the Redeemer’s Church for joining us at Stoneleigh Care Home today. ❤️

They arrived with an incredible selection of musical instruments, including a cello, violin, guitar and a percussion box that I have to admit, I’ve never seen anything quite like before! 🎻🎸🎶

The group included both children and parents, and they absolutely captured the hearts of our residents. 🥰 The children in particular brought such a lovely energy to the afternoon, and it was beautiful to see everyone joining in, singing along to the songs of praise and simply enjoying being together.

There was such a wonderful sense of warmth, joy and community in the room. ❤️

And then, as if the afternoon couldn’t get any more special, Michelle and the children had taken the time to handwrite and draw beautiful little messages for every one of our residents and members of staff. 🥹💌 Such a thoughtful and personal gesture, and something we will truly treasure.

Thank you, Michelle, to all the children, parents and everyone involved for giving our residents such a beautiful afternoon. You brought music, smiles and a whole lot of love into Stoneleigh today. 💕🎶

📸✨ A Trip Down Memory Lane at Stoneleigh Care Home! ✨📸

Today we were delighted to welcome Nattelie from Daisy Sparkles Photography to Stoneleigh for a fascinating afternoon all about the history of photography — and what a wonderful trip down memory lane it was! ❤️

Nattelie prepared a brilliant short video taking us through the history of photography before sharing some amazing old photographs of Stanley Fire Station, Stanley Zoo and Front Street. Our residents loved looking at the familiar places from years gone by and sharing their own memories and stories. 🥰

But the biggest surprise was hearing the fascinating story of Elvis Presley’s two-day visit to Stanley! 🎶🤩 Nattelie even showed us a photograph of Elvis himself on Stanley Front Street! There were plenty of surprised faces around the room as we discovered a little-known piece of Stanley history.

A huge thank you to Nattelie for bringing local history to life and giving our residents the opportunity to reminisce about Stanley and the world they remember. 📸🏘️

🇬🇧 Falklands Day at Stoneleigh Care Home 🇬🇧

Today at Stoneleigh, we came together for a special Falklands Day remembrance, taking time to reflect on what the Falklands conflict means to us and sharing memories of 1982.

We listened to some music from the year, and even had a little look back at the fashion of the time! 🎶👗 We put it to a vote to see whether the music and fashion choices were still favourable… and let’s just say the verdict was a resounding NO! 😂

We also enjoyed a fun Falklands-themed quiz, sharing knowledge, memories and plenty of laughs along the way, before finishing the afternoon with a delicious buffet. 🥪🍰

A lovely afternoon of remembrance, reflection, conversation and community. ❤️

We will remember them. 🇬🇧🌺

Don't forget we will be offering free hotdogs for school aged children, there will be an ice cream van on site and we will have garden games outside.
Plus lots of opportunities to win a prize or two!
