A New Beginning 🌊✨

9 weeks after my hip replacement… I swam in Lac Léman for the very first time. 💙🌊

And honestly, it felt like so much more than a swim.

Floating in that beautiful, clear water, surrounded by the mountains and sunshine, I had one of those moments where you stop and really appreciate how far you’ve come.

Just 9 weeks ago, I was in hospital, recovering from major surgery and wondering when I would feel like myself again. There have been uncomfortable days, frustrating days and plenty of patience required along the way, but today I felt free. I could move, swim, breathe deeply and simply enjoy being alive. ✨

This moment is a celebration of healing, mobility, strength and resilience, and a reminder not to take any of it for granted.

I’m incredibly grateful to my body for everything it has been through and for the amazing capacity it has to heal. Grateful for the medical team who helped me get here. And deeply grateful for the privilege of being able to experience moments like this.

Here’s to new beginnings, new adventures and making the most of this precious life. 🌿💙

Nine weeks. One new hip. One very happy swimmer. 🥰

Let’s talk about REST

What if you don’t need to DO more… but simply BE more? 🌿

The last 8 weeks of recovering from hip replacement have taught me that rest isn’t laziness — it’s part of healing.

Dr Saundra Dalton-Smith identifies 7 types of rest: physical, mental, emotional, sensory, creative, social & spiritual.

And as women, we can become so used to doing, caring, achieving and holding everything together that we forget how to simply be.

My body has forced me to slow down — and I’m learning that healing needs space.

✨ Rest your body.
✨ Quiet your mind.
✨ Nourish your nervous system.
✨ Give yourself permission to pause.

You don’t have to earn rest.
You need it to heal, restore and thrive. 🤍

Which type of rest are you craving most right now?

Last week I went by train to Cumbria to spend time with my Dad.

He’s of the stoic generation. You know the one; never complain, stiff upper lip, work hard, keep going, just get on with it generation.

Over the last 4 years he has experienced a journey with bowel cancer & he has lived his best life doing the things he loves - plodding on.

Upsettingly he has not been well in the last few weeks with a long stay in hospital with pneumonia & then an infection but he came home on Wednesday with a care package in place to help him.

It was wonderful to spend time with him just chewing the cud like the mooing neighbours in the field next to his house. It was also great for me to be able to help him, alongside his wife, settle back at home & to encourage him to leave his bed, walk a little each day & enjoy his favourite TV- horse racing!

I’m forever grateful for this time together & the wild, emotive beauty of Cumbria.

Grateful heart ♥️

❤️

Women! So much wisdom & so much depth…..

Women! So much wisdom & so much depth…..

We are women who are living in this in between time, at the threshold of what was and what is yet to be. And as unsettled as the world is, we rest in a greater truth: the knowing that we *chose* to be born here at this time. In this place. We who belong to the old stories. Women who dream in symbols, feel the rhythm of the earth in our bodies, and are not afraid of descent or becoming. Clarissa Pinkola Estés calls us “wild women” — those who remember who they were before the world told them who to be.

That energy is needed now more than any other time in history. We came here for this, to minister, to show the way and to love. And to help remind you of what that is and who you are, I hit my journals for remembering a few things we do differently, that we have learned in our years here and the energies we bring to teach and lead others - things that the earth so badly needs right now. Things that maybe you too need to be reminded of.

1. We have learned the sacred nature of our intuition, even when it howls in the dark. even when it wakes us screaming. Especially then. We trust the instinctual knowing that rises unbidden—especially when it disrupts. “The wild nature carries the bundles for healing; she carries everything a woman needs to be and know.”

2. We pay attention to and honor our cycles—not just calendars. We move with the moon, rest when our bones say stop, and bloom in off-season hours. “To be strong does not mean to sprout muscles and flex. It means meeting one’s own luminosity without fleeing.”

3. We do not fear descent nor the shadow self. We finally understand that the underworld holds treasure. “To live as closely as possible to the numinous wild is to live at the edge of death. That is where the creators live.”

4. We seek solitude without apology, and have learned the love of our own company. And while we deeply love others and still experiencing loneliness, we also know that in silence, the wild woman speaks. “Solitude is the soul’s holiday.”

5. We are led by, and are devoted to the creative fire. We write, paint, tend altars, bake bread, cultivate and harvest wild plants, whisper poems—not for performance, but for survival. We buy art not because it matches our decor, but because it sings to our soul. “The creative life is the soul’s food and water.”

6. We leave when it’s time to go. No matter how beautiful the cage, we choose the forest. “If you have ever been called uncivilized, untameable, congratulations. You are on the right path.”

7. We protect the sacred fiercely. Our boundaries are circles of fire. “A healthy soul must do two things each day: release and defend.”

8. We daily seek wisdom and pay attention to all of the mysterious ways it sings to us. In the language of birds, in the ladybug crossing the threshold of a window, in a word heard from nowhere, in the art that just “happens” to appear in our feed. And we keep these things conscious and in from it us soas not to lose track. “The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious.”

9. We re-member ourselves. What was shamed, hidden, buried—we gather it all. “We all begin as a bundle of bones lost somewhere in a desert. It is our work to re-member her.” We are women of the bones.

10. We support other women in our tribe and community. We have learned the terrible destruction of women on women crimes and will have no part of them, whether gossip, fake influencers or bad art. We support what immediately sings as truth to us, as from soul, which is more sacred than approval. “The most important thing is to hold on, to begin again, to trust the soul.”

Remember this when you feel wandering or not like you are “doing something” in the midst of this collective chaos. If it were not for YOU buying my art, commenting on these posts, sharing them or even just being here and being witness, then I could not do what I do. By virtue of you being you, you are doing everything.

Including helping me to be me. And there are not enough words to thank you for that.

Thank you so much for the beautiful bunch of flowers and for your visit dear Charlotte.

Charlotte first came to me for Reiki in Barcelona in 2018 & I have been supporting her and her family ever since.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique created by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It uses gentle hand placements or focused intention to channel universal life force energy, aiming to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and support emotional or physical well-being. Distance Reiki sends this healing energy across physical space using sacred symbols, focused visualization, and the recipient's personal details.

Client Testimonial

What a beautiful loving experience Niki’s distant reiki was! Facing the prospect of my mums imminent passing and not having been able to be with her the past few months has been a challenge.
Niki sent such a gorgeous personalised voicemail after the reiki, it was very touching
Overall the experience made me feel calmer , more grounded and as though healing love was filling my body and soul as well as my Mums.
Thank you Niki ! X

The very last love letters to ourselves written at a New Moon Circle have gone in the postbox during this time of potential energy & are now on their way to the women who write to themselves. Whatever they need to hear now is written there and the timing is perfect.

I’m a hippy!!!

On 11th June I headed to Heatherwood hospital in Ascot for a total right hip replacement & whilst not everything went to plan, I am now, 2 1/2 weeks post surgery, turning a beautiful corner.

I arrived at hospital, safely driven by Helen Ritchie | BANT registered Nutritional Therapist & settled into the day surgery ward to await my turn. It felt like a long wait from 7am until 12 noon ish when I went to the pre op room for a spinal anasthetic….that did not work! Neither legs went to sleep within 30 minutes & I was starting to get very anxious as the team waited, discussing the football, around me. Plan B was a general anasthetic & this went to plan. I woke up to a phone call from Eliza Moss in the recovery room & was admitted to the ward- my own private room above the trees.
PAIN!
Wow 😮 was that a big deal & I soon had a morphine driver & drifted in & out of sleep until Eliza Moss arrived from Switzerland 🇨🇭 to be with me at home for the first 48hrs.
Unfortunately, my temperature spiked to 39.9, my blood pressure & oxygen levels dropped & I had an allergic reaction to the morphine & was put on a drip instead & given a liquid op**te medication instead.

The physiotherapy team came 3 times over the next 2 days to help me learn how to transition in & out of bed, to walk using: crutches, & to do the rehab exercises. Each time, my blood pressure dropped & the mission was abandoned.

Finally on the Sunday afternoon, 3 days after the op, I was stable enough to be discharged into Eliza Moss’ care & left hospital. Since then Louis has also been to help me recover and get me mobile & active, a job he took very seriously & Eliza Moss came back last night for a few days too & can see the progress I have made already.

Each day my world expands a little more, I feel less discomfort & have more mobility. The 36 clips are now out & I feel less like a bird trapped in a cage as I can get in & out of a car & walk on one crutch, enabling me to go out!! Hurrah!! 🥳

I’m a hippy! I have a titanium & ceramic right hip & my body is healing well. I can’t wait to teach yoga again, dance & plan to walk part of the Camino de Santiago in celebration.

What a beautiful evening we had guiding the Resilience Reset in Kintbury last Saturday evening.

Thank you to the special souls who joined us to experience mindful embodied yoga inspired movement and breath work, Chakra healing using tuning forks and Reiki and gentle meditation to soften the heart, build resilience and waken the body into Summer.

This was the first time that Perin had used tuning fork healing in a group setting and wow was it powerful!

Over herbal teas, organic strawberries and home made Swiss chocolate salted nutty Bark, the feedback was unanimous….I feel so much better, that was incredible, I’m deeply relaxed, I saw colours and felt your hands and heat.

We will be back on Saturday 19th September from 6:30-8:30pm and can’t wait!

With love 💕,

Perin and Niki
