Those of you who have been to sessions here at Rooted HQ, will know just how much our familiars mean to us. They are not just animals, or even part of the family, but wise souls, part of our energy, and healers.
Many of our familiars are rescues, either from neglectful homes, abandoned or injured in the wild, or from irresponsible hatchers.
When we rescue an animal, we put our heart and soul into healing it, and giving it the best chance of a happy life.
And therefore, when we lose one, there is not just the grief that comes with losing a pet, but the guilt at not having done more, and for an Earth Witch, the loss of a bond not many will understand.
So, it is with a heavy heart, that after 2 years of happiness as part of the familiar fold, we have said goodbye to Hazel-Rah today. The friendliest of the bunny brigade.
If you met him, join with me this evening to light a candle of gratitude as we see him over the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you Hazel for everything you gifted me, and your fellow bunnies (and ducks), who are all still currently looking for you.
