We keep telling men to talk. We need to make sure we’re listening.

This World Mental Health Day, the theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.”

At MenTribe, that means listening to the bloke who says “I’m fine” because he doesn’t know where to start. The mate who’s gone quiet. The man who’s still turning up for everyone else while struggling himself.

It means giving men a say in what support looks like, and taking their experiences seriously.

That’s why we create opportunities to walk, kick a ball, get outdoors and connect. Somewhere to belong, whether you’re ready to talk or just need some company.

Today, check in on a mate. Ask how he’s really doing. Give him time to answer, without feeling you need to fix everything.

And if you’re struggling yourself, you’re welcome at MenTribe. You don’t need the right words to join us. 💚

Real voices. Real connection. Real change.

Men need your help.
Tag your local MS and demand action. 💚

We keep telling men, “It’s okay to talk.” But when a man does speak up, the right support needs to be there for him. We cannot put all the responsibility on men and leave them struggling to find help.

Movember’s new report shows that 6,793 men in Wales died before turning 75 in 2024. Su***de is the leading cause of death for men under 50. These figures affect partners, children, friends and whole communities.

Wales has a Women’s Health Plan, and rightly so. Men deserve the same serious attention. We need a dedicated, funded Men’s Health Plan for Wales that reaches men earlier and backs the services and community groups they turn to.

Tag your local Member of the Senedd and ask them: will you back this plan, and what will you do to make it happen?

A proud few days for MenTribe 💚

On Friday, MenTribe founder Callum was invited by Movember UK to speak at its fringe event during the Plaid Cymru Conference at Venue Cymru.

The panel, titled “Why the **** does Wales need a Men’s Health Plan?”, brought together MenTribe, UK Men's Sheds Association , Movember UK and Leticia Gonzalez to discuss the challenges facing men in Wales, what prevents men from accessing support and why Wales needs a dedicated Men’s Health Plan.

Today, Callum and Shaun Williams were honoured to be invited to the Senedd for the launch of Movember’s report on men’s health in Wales, alongside organisations and individuals committed to improving the lives of men across the country. It was brilliant to meet John Hartson , Matthew Johnson and so many others doing great work in this space. As always, it was lovely to bump into the Helpu Cymru team too!

These opportunities allow us to share the lived experience behind MenTribe and bring the voices of the men in our communities into the national conversation about men’s health.

Thank you to Movember UK, our fellow panellists and everyone we connected with over the past few days. We’re excited to build on these conversations and continue working together for men across Wales.

Most importantly, thank you to every man who turns up to a walk, football session or event, every volunteer who gives their time, and everyone who supports MenTribe.

You are MenTribe, and you are the reason our voice is being heard. 💚

Fancy taking your team somewhere better than a meeting room? ⛰️

MenTribe is now offering guided hikes for workplace teams in Eryri.

It could be a steady walk with time to chat, or a bigger mountain challenge you tackle together. We’ll plan the route around your group and lead the day, so you can get outside and enjoy it.

We’ve seen through MenTribe how much can change when people step away from the everyday and walk side by side. No forced team-building exercises. Just fresh air, good company and a day you’ll actually remember.

Got a team day coming up? Drop us a message and let’s plan something that works for your people.

Different people. Same mountains. 🌿

MenTribe Armed Forces Veterans | September Event

Great to see the veteran lads getting out and tackling the Nantlle Ridge on Sunday.

A proper day in the mountains - challenging terrain, some incredible views, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, good company.

Our Veterans events aren’t about sitting in a room talking about mental health. They’re about getting veterans back alongside other veterans, doing something familiar: getting outside, taking on a challenge and having a bit of craic along the way.

Sometimes that’s all that’s needed. No pressure to talk. No expectations. Just turn up, get involved and spend the day around people who get it.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along and made it another cracking day. 👊

And a massive thanks to Shaun Williams for leading this straight off the back of his ML assessment and only one day of rest 🤣 top man 👏🏻💚

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. The theme is changing the narrative on su***de. This is part of mine.

For years, I struggled with suicidal thoughts. There were times when I could not see how things would improve or believe that life would ever feel different.

But it did.

Slowly, the good days returned and life began moving forward again. That experience is a huge part of why MenTribe exists today.

We built MenTribe for men who feel conventional therapy is not working for them. Men who might simply need good people around them. People who will listen without judgement and remind them that they do not have to face everything alone.

Sometimes support looks like a walk, a kickabout, time outdoors or an honest conversation with someone who understands.

MenTribe was built from the experiences and support we wish we had when we needed it most.

If you are struggling, please know that your current situation is not permanent. Things can improve. Good days will return. I promise.

Please speak to someone and let them stand beside you.

If you are in immediate danger, call 999. You can also call Samaritans free at any time on 116 123.

What does MenTribe mean to the men who attend?

We asked this as part of our community survey. Their answers say more about MenTribe than we ever could.

A reason to get out of the house. People to speak to. Friendship, purpose and somewhere to belong.

Swipe through to read what MenTribe means to them.

If you’d like to get involved, send us a message.

Wondering how to get involved with MenTribe?

There’s something happening throughout the month, from weekly community walks and football to our monthly veterans and main MenTribe walks.

Most of our walk details are organised through the MenTribe Community WhatsApp groups, so you won’t always see every activity advertised publicly.

Our walks are free, relaxed and welcoming. You don’t need a referral, you don’t need to be struggling and you don’t need to know anybody beforehand.

Send us a message with where you’re based and what you’d like to join, and we’ll point you in the right direction 💚

*Please note that walk days and dates can occasionally change due to walk leaders’ availability.*
