Last week, broadcaster Emma Barnett’s powerful documentary on endometriosis has sparked important conversations across the UK. If you haven’t seen it yet, Fighting Endometriosis is available now on BBC iPlayer and is well worth a watch.
Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women, yet many spend years searching for answers before receiving a diagnosis.
At Ultrasound NI, we see first-hand the impact that conditions such as endometriosis and adenomyosis can have on women’s lives. While ultrasound cannot diagnose every case of endometriosis, specialist pelvic ultrasound can identify signs of deep infiltrating disease, endometriomas, adhesions, adenomyosis and other pelvic abnormalities that may help guide further management.
If you have been told your pain is “normal” but you know something isn’t right, trust your instincts.
You deserve to be listened to, investigated and supported.
💛 Women’s pain matters. Women’s health matters.
