❄️ The treatment room is fully air-conditioned ❄️

☀️With temperatures set to reach record highs this week, I know a lot of people will be feeling it.

For some, that means heavier legs.

For others, it's swollen ankles, puffier feet, feeling hot, uncomfortable and generally not quite themselves.

Heat can make swelling worse, especially if you're prone to it, have lipoedema, lymphoedema, are navigating menopause, or spend long periods sitting or standing.

A few simple things that can help:

⭐ Drink plenty of water

⭐ Keep moving, even if it's just short walks

⭐ Put your legs up when you can

⭐ Stay cool where possible

One thing I am particularly grateful for this week is the air conditioning in my treatment room.

It's not just a luxury.

Many of my clients are sensitive to heat and temperature changes, so being able to keep the room comfortable makes a huge difference.

Take care of yourselves this week and don't be surprised if your body feels a little different in this weather 💚

🌿 One thing I've noticed lately is just how many different reasons people book in for Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

A few years ago, most people had never even heard of it.

Now I'm seeing more and more people with lipoedema, swelling, post-surgery recovery, menopause symptoms, stress and anxiety.

Some people come because they feel heavy.

Some because they feel puffy.

Some because they feel completely overwhelmed and need an hour where they can properly switch off.

What they often have in common is that their body is asking for a bit more support.

I think that's why I love MLD so much.

It's gentle.

There's no forcing, no gritting your teeth through deep pressure.

Just giving the body a chance to slow down and do what it's designed to do.

And very often people leave saying the same thing:

"I feel lighter."

💚

You don't need to wait until things get really bad ⭐

So how do you know if Manual Lymphatic Drainage might be right for you?

You don't need a diagnosis.

You don't need a referral.

And you definitely don't need to be at breaking point.

A lot of people book because they feel:

⭐ Heavy

⭐ Puffy

⭐ Tense

⭐ Stressed

⭐ Swollen

⭐ Uncomfortable in their body

⭐ Like they're carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders

Sometimes people can't put their finger on exactly what's wrong.

They just know they don't feel quite like themselves.

And that's often where the conversation starts.

🌿 One of the best ways to stimulate your deep lymphatic system?

Breathe.

It sounds too simple, but it's true.

Deep lymphatic vessels sit within the body and rely on things like movement, muscle contractions and diaphragmatic breathing to help keep fluid moving.

So next time you're feeling a bit sluggish, heavy or puffy, try this:

⭐ Place one hand on your chest and one on your tummy

⭐ Breathe in slowly through your nose so the hand on your tummy rises

⭐ Breathe out slowly

⭐ Repeat for 2-3 minutes

A walk will help too.

Simple things.

But sometimes the simple things work best 💚

🌧️ 💨 Well, today has been a bit of a disappointment weather wise.

After all that sunshine, I had visions of getting loads done outside.

Instead, it's grey, wet and one of those days that makes you want to stay in your pyjamas.

And if I'm honest, I always notice the difference in how I feel too.

My mood drops a little.
My motivation disappears.
Everything feels a bit harder.

It's a good reminder that our bodies are constantly responding to what's going on around us.

The weather.
Stress.
Sleep.
Hormones.

We aren't machines.

So if today's been a slower day than planned, that's OK.

Tomorrow is another day ⭐

What do people actually come for? ⭐

One thing that surprises people when they come to see me...

Manual Lymphatic Drainage isn't just for lymphoedema.

People come to me for:

⭐ Lipoedema

⭐ Lymphoedema

⭐ Stress and anxiety

⭐ Nervous system support

⭐ Menopause

⭐ Pregnancy

⭐ Post-surgery recovery

⭐ Sinus congestion

⭐ Migraines

⭐ Jaw tension and TMJ issues

⭐ Acne

⭐ Brain fog and fatigue

⭐ Swelling after travel

⭐ Support after cancer treatment

The thing all these people have in common?

They want to feel more comfortable in their body.

And sometimes supporting the lymphatic system and nervous system can make a bigger difference than people expect 💚

Has anyone else felt more swollen over the last week?

I'm not going to lie, even I noticed it during the heatwave.

Heavier legs.
Tighter rings.
That general feeling of being a bit puffier than normal.

I've had quite a few conversations about it in the studio too.

The good news is that you're not imagining it.

Hot weather can make swelling worse because our blood vessels widen to help cool us down. Unfortunately, that can make it easier for fluid to hang around where we'd rather it didn't.

The weather has cooled down now, but if you're still feeling the effects, a few simple things can help:

⭐ Keep moving
⭐ Drink plenty of water
⭐ Put your legs up for 10 minutes
⭐ Avoid sitting still for too long

And if things still feel heavy, that's where MLD can help support the movement of fluid and get things flowing a bit more easily again.

If you've felt a bit more swollen than usual this week, you're definitely not the only one 💚

Sometimes the body feels heavy because life feels heavy.

Stress sits in the body far more than people realise.

Tight shoulders.
Jaw tension.
Poor sleep.
That constant feeling of being “on”.

Sometimes the most helpful thing is simply giving yourself permission to slow down for a minute 💚

Not every day has to be a full reset.

Sometimes it’s just getting outside for 15 minutes.

Sometimes it’s slowing down enough to notice your shoulders are up round your ears.

Sometimes it’s just giving yourself a breather.

That still counts ⭐
