GROUNDING 👣

Sometimes, when we’re in a state of activation, we forget all the tools we have available to help us feel grounded, safe, and regulated again.

When our sympathetic nervous system is activated (our fight-or-flight response), it can begin to affect our sleep, eating habits, and digestion.

Our digestive system is in constant communication with our nervous system through the vagus nerve, so before we know it, we’re caught in a vicious cycle of stress feeding more stress.

I’ve been feeling pretty dysregulated this past week, and this morning I felt the need to ground myself.

After just five minutes of walking barefoot in nature, I noticed I started yawning frequently.

Then it clicked.

Grounding is such a powerful way to help bring the body back into homeostasis, back into balance.

Yawning is often a sign that the parasympathetic nervous system (our rest-and-digest response) is becoming more active; It’s the body’s way of saying, “You’re safe now. You can slow down. You can rest.”

Just five minutes of your time can help your body reconnect with a sense of balance, safety, and calm.

Even though I spend so much time learning about and teaching nervous system regulation, I’m still amazed by how quickly and powerfully these simple practices can shift the way we feel.

Some of the benefits of grounding:
🌿 Helps calm the nervous system
🌿 Reduces stress and anxiety
🌿 Supports better sleep
🌿 Encourages parasympathetic activation
🌿 May improve mood and emotional regulation
🌿 Helps reduce muscle tension
🌿 Supports a greater sense of presence and connection
🌿 Can promote feelings of safety and inner calm

Sometimes the simplest practices really are the most powerful 👣✨

We often think pain is just physical…
but the body is far more intelligent than that.

Fascia - the connective tissue that wraps around your muscles, organs, bones and nervous system is deeply connected to both the physical and emotional body.

It’s designed to be fluid, soft and adaptable.

But when we move through stress, trauma, grief, anxiety or long periods of emotional overwhelm, the body adapts in order to protect us.

And over time… fascia can begin to tighten.

What should move freely can become dense, restricted and almost hardened; creating tension, stiffness, pain, fatigue and a feeling of being emotionally ‘stuck’.

This is why so many people carry:
• Tight hips
• Tight jaws
• Chest tension
• Chronic aches
• Nervous system dysregulation
• Emotional numbness
• Anxiety stored in the body

Because the body stores what the mind cannot always process.

This is where Myofascial Energetic Release becomes so powerful ✨

MER is a deep, intuitive form of bodywork that works with the fascia, nervous system and emotional body simultaneously.

Not through force.
Not through ‘fixing’.
But through safety.

By slowing down, listening to the body and following its cues, the fascia begins to soften and the nervous system begins to regulate.

And when the body finally feels safe enough…

it lets go.

Sometimes that looks like:
• Deep relaxation
• Emotional release
• Tears
• Breath opening
• Tingling or shaking
• Feeling lighter in the body
• A sense of calm or clarity afterwards

The body knows how to heal.
It simply needs the right environment to do so.

This work is about:
🧡 Attuning to the body
🧡 Creating safety
🧡 Listening instead of pushing
🧡 Following instead of forcing
🧡 Allowing release to happen naturally

Your body isn’t working against you.
It’s communicating with you.

And often, the tension we carry physically is connected to what we’ve been carrying emotionally 🧡

This post isn’t about likes, attention or sympathy - it’s about showing all parts of me, not just the smiling, bubbly version people usually see.

And maybe by doing that it encourages other people to show up as their real, raw and vulnerable self too.

I think a lot of people fall into the habit of performing and pretending everything’s okay (myself included) because they don’t want to burden people or come across like they want sympathy - so they keep quiet whilst inside they’re struggling way more than anyone realises and desperately wanting to feel seen.

Or maybe you just feel like you have to keep going, because if you stop and actually allow yourself to feel and acknowledge the pain you’re going through, you’re scared you’ll completely fall apart - so you just carry on and keep pushing through; I also know this pattern too well.

I’ve been debating whether to share this video because it feels vulnerable - watching it back upsets me because I can see just how much pain and emotion I’m carrying every single day.

Living with chronic pain isn’t just physically draining, it’s emotionally draining too, exhausting in fact.

Most people only see the smiles, the laughter and the bubbly version of me… the mask I wear so well. But this is a very real part of me too.

This was taken on my trip to Morocco a week ago. I posted content every day that probably looked like I was just happy and carefree - and I was. But at the same time, I was also in a lot of pain both physically and emotionally.

I think it’s important to acknowledge that both things can coexist together. You can still smile, laugh, make memories and enjoy moments whilst silently struggling at the same time.

I’ve recently been to see the surgeon and there’s plans in place to hopefully get me back to full health physically… I’ll update you guys shortly!

I hope this post encourages people to share their story and struggles too - and I’m always here for anyone that needs to talk 🧡

Morocco… what an eye opening experience 🇲🇦✨

It made me realise just how lucky I am to live the life that I do, and I’m feeling so grateful for every moment of this trip.

From the Atlas Mountains and Paradise Valley, to watching the sunset at the top of Oufella, exploring the Medina and walking through the souk markets with over 6000 stalls… every part of it was unforgettable.

The culture, the people, the food, the weather - such a beautiful experience from start to finish. Everyone we met was so genuine and kind.

That’s Morocco ticked off my bucket list 🙌
