What is Social Prescribing?
Social prescribing is a community-centered approach to health and wellbeing that connects individuals to a range of non-clinical support services. It aims to improve health and wellbeing by addressing the social, emotional, and practical needs that affect people's lives. Social prescribing is not a new concept; it has been used in the UK and has expanded globally to create an internationally agreed definition. It is designed to support individuals in taking greater control of their health and wellbeing, complementing other approaches in a local area such as active signposting.

This week, we've been celebrating Volunteers Week and the great impact volunteers have made in their local communities.

In this spirit, earlier this week we celebrated some of our Good Neighbour groups and welcomed them to our vineyard at Warden Abbey. We had a lovely time - despite the threat of thunder and lightning!

We're grateful to everyone involved in Good Neighbour Schemes. The work that you do inspires us all! 💜💚

Now your child is entering into the next year of their life, things will start to change quickly as they further explore their environment, build on their unique personalities, and prepare for the world of sharing and playing with others in social settings such as nursery.

Some parents find this next 18 months a bit of a challenge, we can help you prepare for the challenges ahead.

Your child’s review will include –

- discussions in regards to any concerns you may have with your child
- review of your child’s health and development
- review and promotion of your child’s language development
- guidance on managing your child’s behaviour
- advice on healthy eating and physical activity
- promotion of immunisations
- advice and support with dental care, looking after your children’s teeth, accident prevention, sleeping and potty training.
- information on early years education

Your child will also be weighed and measured.

You will be sent an SMS link just after your child turns 2 years and 2 months, this will enable you to book a review at a time, date and venue that suits you.

You will also be sent a development questionnaire at the same time for you to complete with your child at home and bring with you to discuss at the review.
