So many people spend their lives believing they are not enough. Too broken. Too flawed. Too late.

But the truth is, your very existence is extraordinary. And healing often begins the moment we stop judging ourselves so harshly and start treating ourselves with compassion instead. 💛

You do not have to struggle alone.

Today is International Human Resources Day — a chance to recognise the people behind the people. 💙

Many people know me through my work in psychology, trauma healing, mindset, and emotional wellbeing… but alongside this, I’ve also spent more than 25 years working in HR service delivery, projects, organisational change, and HR consultancy.

With a background in business psychology, I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between people, performance, wellbeing, and workplace culture. Because behind every organisation are human beings — each carrying pressures, challenges, ambitions, emotions, and personal stories that often remain unseen.

Good HR is never just about policies, procedures, or paperwork. It’s about communication, trust, leadership, emotional intelligence, and creating environments where people feel supported, respected, and able to thrive.

Over the years, I’ve worked closely with clients to help navigate change, improve workplace wellbeing, strengthen teams, and create healthier, more human-centred ways of working.

I also strongly believe that those supporting others need to look after themselves too. I try hard to stay fit, healthy, and mentally balanced — because wellbeing matters both inside and outside the workplace.

So today, I’d like to say thank you to all HR professionals, leaders, and people-focused teams working hard behind the scenes to support others every day.

People matter. Always. 🙏

My mum & I had a tricky relationship. I always wondered why she was more tough on me than my brother. Growing up I both adored her & yet resented her. I worked so hard but it never felt enough.

Now I realise that's just the way of Indian mums - instilling a strength & inner confidence in their children. Something I only appreciated when I started work, finding my voice & my path.

I was so humbled at the exhibition at Kensington Palace. This lady Maharani Jind Kaur had everything taken away from her, including her son & heir, Maharaja Dilip Singh of Punjab, as a consequence of empire.

But she kept fighting for her son's inheritance. Until the very end she showed her strength & inner belief that she could reclaim her son's birthright.

My mum a maharani by her own definition 🥰 fought her own battles to give her children the inner confidence & determination to succeed. It was tough love ❤️ but she did it.

There have been many moments in my life where I felt afraid, stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of myself. But growth rarely happens inside our comfort zones.

🙏One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is this:
Staying safe mean staying stuck.

Healing, confidence, growth, and transformation often begin the moment we decide to trust ourselves just enough to take the next step forward. 😊

So many people spend years pretending they’re “fine” while silently struggling underneath.

But healing often begins the moment we stop hiding, stop performing strength, and allow ourselves to be seen as we truly are.

You do not have to carry everything alone. Support is available, and change is possible. 💛

If you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, confidence, fears, unwanted habits, or simply feeling stuck, I can help.

A beautiful reminder during that success isn’t always about winning. Sometimes it’s about having the courage to show up, take the leap, silence the self-doubt, and recognise how far you’ve come. 💛
Thank you Donna Ashworth for sharing such a powerful perspective. 🌿

I didn’t win a British book of the year award last night.

And I was delighted!

It is mental health awareness week and so I think it’s very important that I celebrate not winning.

Because not winning means I’m in the game. I’m part of it - this big, beautiful, terrifying life and that says a lot for someone like me who can be so easily side-tracked by overwhelming reasons NOT TO DO SOMETHING HARD.

To say I’m thrilled that ‘To The Women’ was shortlisted is beyond true because this book was where it all began for me…my lockdown life pivot. It was what felt like my ‘last chance saloon’- my brave leap into a new era of ‘what’s the very best that could happen’. It was the moment I truly crossed the cringe, stepped on the imposter syndrome’s head to peep over the parapet at what was out there. And I’ve never looked back.

I set out to share words that help. Every day. Little soul nudges for us all to pass to one another when we are stuck or lacking direction, hope, comfort…reminders why being human is so agonisingly painful and yet so desperately wonderful.

So. I’m delighted I didn’t win. I sat in a room full of amazing humans and did not tell myself once that I’d didn’t belong there. I simply relayed to the heavens over and over and over… thank you.

I’ve come so far y’all!

Thank you all for your companionship every step of the way.

I love you 💛

This week is — a national campaign bringing people across the UK together to focus on achieving better mental health for all. 💚

But mental health support, understanding, and access to care are not experienced equally by everyone.

Many underserved communities still face significant barriers when it comes to mental health support — including people from minority ethnic backgrounds, economically disadvantaged areas, ex-industrial communities, and those with lower access to education or healthcare resources.

For some individuals, these barriers overlap. This is known as intersectionality — where multiple challenges combine to create even greater inequalities in mental health experiences and outcomes.

No one should feel unseen, unheard, or unsupported because of their background, postcode, income, culture, language, or life circumstances.

Creating better mental health across our communities means creating:
✨ More inclusion
✨ More compassion
✨ More understanding
✨ Fairer access to support
✨ Safe spaces where everyone feels listened to without judgement

Sometimes the people struggling the most are also the people least likely to ask for help — often because previous experiences have left them feeling overlooked or misunderstood.

Mental health awareness should never be one-size-fits-all. Real progress happens when support becomes more accessible, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and human.

This week is a reminder that better mental health starts with kindness, inclusion, fairness, and making sure nobody is left behind. 💙

Reviews like this always mean a great deal to me — not simply because of the kind words, but because they reflect something deeply important in the therapeutic process: feeling truly heard, understood, and supported. 💙

So many people silently carry stress, anxiety, fears, overwhelm, low self-esteem, emotional exhaustion, or habits they desperately want to change. Often, what they need first is not judgement or pressure to “fix” themselves, but a safe, compassionate space where they can pause, breathe, and feel listened to.

As a person-centred NLP integrative hypnotherapist, psychologist, coach, and public speaker, my approach is always centred around the individual. No two people experience life, stress, trauma, or emotional struggles in exactly the same way — which is why support should never feel one-size-fits-all.

Whether someone is struggling with:
✨ Stress or anxiety
✨ Sleep or relaxation difficulties
✨ Depression or emotional overwhelm
✨ Fears and phobias
✨ Confidence or self-esteem issues
✨ Weight-related challenges
✨ Breaking unwanted habits or addictions such as smoking

…my aim is always to create a positive, encouraging, and supportive environment where meaningful change can begin.

Sometimes even one conversation can help someone feel lighter, clearer, calmer, and more hopeful about the future.

Thank you again for the kind review and for trusting me to be part of your journey. 🙏

This week is — a national campaign encouraging more open conversations about dying, grief, loss, and the emotions surrounding them.

For many people, even thinking about death can trigger anxiety, stress, fear, or deep emotional discomfort. Yet avoiding these conversations can sometimes increase worry and emotional overwhelm, especially when difficult moments arrive unexpectedly.

Talking openly about mortality, loss, and our wishes doesn’t mean giving up hope. Often, it can bring clarity, connection, reassurance, and a greater sense of peace for both individuals and families.

In my work, I often see how unresolved fears around illness, death, grief, and uncertainty can quietly impact mental health — contributing to anxiety, panic, sleep difficulties, emotional avoidance, or feelings of helplessness.

Creating safe spaces to talk, reflect, and process emotions is incredibly important. Whether through conversation, therapy, mindfulness, or support groups, opening up can reduce emotional pressure and help people feel less alone.

This week is a gentle reminder that mental wellbeing also includes our relationship with grief, uncertainty, change, and difficult conversations.

Sometimes the conversations we avoid the most are the ones that can bring the greatest emotional relief. 💙
