This is my favourite ridden exercise for creating a still lower leg? Try this in walk first. Pick two points in the school or out hacking stand up in your stirrups without falling back in saddle. Maybe a whole circle or the whole length of the school. Then sit gently back down remaining balanced. Stand up again in your stirrups without leaning on reins and trying not to lose balance. Once easier in walk you can progress to trot then canter. Switching between half seat and sitting in saddle improves your stamina and your core but also improves your balance therefore improving your lower leg. You can even progress to doing this with one hand.

If you’re a rider and have tight hips, uneven shoulders or feel uneven in the saddle this is the stretch for you. It’s so effective for creating symmetry throughout your body and therefore helping your horse work more evenly on both reins. Try this before your next ride.

I get asked the same questions on repeat: why does my horse always fall out through the left shoulder? Why can’t I sit the trot without gripping? Why does my position fall apart the second I get tired?

So I’m starting a free WhatsApp community for riders who want somewhere to ask those questions, share what’s working (and what isn’t), and talk through the “why” behind what’s happening in the saddle — with me in there too. We can explore why some exercises work for riders specifically and why some don’t!! 🫣

No pressure, no sales pitch, just a place to think out loud about your riding and your body together.

Message me or comment if you’d like to be added. ♥️

Can you relate!? 🤔🤣🫣😜

Riding is difficult enough… but adding in the mix menopause can make it feel extremely stressful!!! Pilates will calm the nervous system and put you back in control by giving you confidence and making you feel more toned, balanced and relaxed both on and off your horses. I cover this in my classes. Thank me later!!!
