My students have been sharing how yoga impacts their day to day movement and lives….
For me, it helps me be present and to enjoy small moments like just being surrounded by nature, moving freely, and being grateful for the time and space to savour those moments.
We practice on our mats but yoga goes way beyond the mat.

Yoga practice goes way beyond the mat we lie on in class, it’s how we approach our daily lives and situations as well.
When we stop and observe what’s going on around us, we deepen our connection to nature, we learn to step outside of our own thoughts, take a moment, and breathe.
This slows the breath down, helping us to think clearer.

How can we introduce moments of calm into our day?
Try this: Just be.
Mindfulness is something we practice in every class.
Start with just 30 seconds and try to be present by focusing on the sounds or smells around you.
Simple daily routines can become mindful moments of calm.
Yoga reaches so much further than the mat.

Yoga is back after a short break! Join me this week at the usual times: Tuesday evening 7pm at Binfield CE Primary School (near Foxes Den) and Friday morning 8am at Binfield Community Centre (near Kings Academy)

Yoga has so many benefits for our bodies and minds, both on and off the mat, through relaxation and mindfulness it can help improve our sleep.
Simple asanas (poses) such as Balasana (Child’s pose), Baddha Konasana (cobbler pose), and Viparita Karani (legs up the wall) before sleeping can enhance our sleep pattern and manage insomnia.

Don’t forget to include stretching in your training regime…
Remember that stretching enhances muscle recovery and helps to prevent injuries.
