I'd love to hear your reflections about some of the questions we explored at Slow Social last night. Is there ever a moral justification for breaking rules? And what is your definition of privilege? Join us at October's social to explore theses kinds of questions in person.

I’m probably late to the band-wagon but I’m jumping on it anyway…

kinda chic to reject the idea that you have to be productive, successful, or exhausted to ‘deserve’ rest

kinda chic to let yourself stim, use sensory supports, or communicate in ways that feel authentic, instead of masking

kinda chic to treat mobility aids as tools for access, independence, pleasure, and participation

kinda chic to acknowledge the systemic issues that impact you, instead of seeing yourself as the problem

kinda chic to know your worth isn’t something you have to earn

kinda chic to say f**k you to anyone who thinks your lived experience is theirs to debate

Slow Social is back at The Cloak and Dagger in September.

Skip the small talk and join us for connection, conversation and the chance for adults of all ages to explore intergenerational friendships.

Through a mix one-to-one and small-group conversations, you'll explore thoughtful prompts, meaningful topics, and light-hearted questions that invite curiosity, authenticity, and a depth. Think speed dating but slower, structured, and sober!

Whether you're hoping to meet new people, build community, or try a different kind of social experience, this is an alcohol free, identity affirming space that's hosted by me, Laura, a therapist and counsellor with lived experience of neurodivergence.

Sign up via the events link in my bio or drop me a message if you have any questions!

Skip the small talk and join us for connection and conversation. Think speed dating but slower, structured and intentional.

On individual 'healing' (using that word with a caveat, as I don't think we should always be aiming to be 'healed' because that means seeing ourselves as having something to 'fix') vs the power of being in community with people who share aspects of our identity.

Both Lammas and Lughnasadh (or Lùnastal in Scottish Gaelic and Luanistyn in Manx Gaelic) mark the beginning of the grain harvest around August 1st, sitting midway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox.

This is the time to honour both physical and spiritual sustenance, to recognise the fruits of our labour and to give thanks for what we’ve created and received this year.

The main differences between these two celebrations are cultural. Check out the carousel to find out more about the cultural origins or head to my blog (link in bio) where you’ll find more reflections and journal prompts to explore.
