Last week, for the first time in a VERY long time, I had a positive aspiration during a lip filler treatment 🤯

This is exactly why I will never skip aspirating before injecting — no matter how much longer it takes. Patient safety will always come first.

So what does a positive aspiration mean?
It means the needle or cannula may be sitting inside a blood vessel. Injecting filler into a vessel can potentially cause serious complications such as vascular occlusion, tissue damage/necrosis, and in very rare cases, blindness if filler travels through the blood supply.

Thankfully, aspiration meant I was able to stop before injecting 🙏🏼

Aesthetics should never be rushed. Safety, knowledge, and responsibility matter far more than speed.

Results don’t just disappear after a couple of weeks, and no — everybody’s experience is not exactly the same. Things like metabolism, muscle strength, lifestyle and consistency all play a part in how long results last.

For some people, results may wear off a little quicker than average too — especially with regular intense fitness training, a fast metabolism, stronger facial muscles, high stress levels, excessive sun exposure or frequent sunbed use.

One of the biggest misconceptions?
That once movement returns, everything goes straight back to square one.
