Bioidentical HRT can be a really effective treatment for symptoms of menopause 🔬👩‍🔬

But what does bioidentical even mean? It quite literally means that the molecules (hormones in the case of HRT) are biologically identical to the ones made by your body. The structures are the same.🧬

Having the same structure means that bioidentical hormones can bind to the same receptors as your own hormones and carry out the same function with limited side effects.

Synthetic hormones although similar to bodily hormones have a slightly different structure and can cause more side effects than bioidentical hormones.

We offer tailored appointments (including prescriptions!) to help you find the right HRT to suit your symptoms and lifestyle. Menopause isn’t something we can stop, but it is a transition that we can help make easier.

Taking GLP-1 medication? 💊

Struggling with food noise? 💥📢

Here are 3 tips from Dr Bavna Kallan you can use to navigate food noise: 💥

1. Protein & Fibre. High protein foods and fibre maxxing are everywhere at the moment - and for good reason. Fibre helps slow down the digestive process, helping you stay fuller for longer and is great for your gut bacteria. Protein is vital for maintaining muscle help and also helps to keep you full, reducing the likelihood of you wanting to snack later on. 🥦💪

2. Stop grazing. Grazing encourages our body to constantly think about food. You can minimise this by eating at set times and having substantial meals that will keep you fuller for longer😳

3. Reduce decision fatigue. Decision fatigue can lead us to grab what’s easiest to eat out of the cupboard - most of the time it’s an unhealthy snack. Plan meals a few days in advance and repeat the meals that you eat to help reduce decision fatigue.🫠

“I’m tired all the time… could it be low testosterone?” 🤔

It's a common question Dr Nazir gets asked in his clinic.

Sometimes the answer is yes.
But very often, it is more complicated than that.
Stress. Poor sleep. Weight gain. Burnout. Ageing. Lifestyle. Medication. Supplements.

More and more men ordering online blood tests, self-diagnosing from “out of range” results, starting or stopping supplements, or worrying unnecessarily because they have seen one number in red.🩸

The truth is, blood tests should never be looked at in isolation.

A “normal” testosterone level does not always mean you will feel well.
And an “abnormal” result does not always mean something is wrong.

The most important part is understanding the result in context of your symptoms, your background, your family history, and what is going on in your life.💆‍♂️

That's why Dr Nazir wrote this latest blog. It's a straight-talking guide to testosterone, energy, and performance.

If you are feeling tired, flat, struggling in the gym, noticing changes in libido, or already on TRT and worried about your blood results, then this blog is for you.

Want a treatment that REALLY fixes hair loss?

You need to try PRP 💉🩸

PRP stands for platelet rich plasma - a treatment that’s made from your own blood platelets taken from a sample of your own blood.

This treatment is amazing because the blood platelets release bioactive proteins called growth factors. 💪

Growth factors stimulate:

Collagen and Elastin production
Production of new blood vessels
Stem cell movement - encouraging stem cells to move to the site.
Inflammation - promoting blood flow and tissue recovery.

The growth factors help increase blood flow to the hair follicles, allowing them to shift from a dormant phase, into an active growth phase. ⬆️

You’ll usually need about 6 treatments initially (although this is dependant on the severity of the hairloss/hair thinning) and then a top up every two years to make sure the follicles remain active.

Not getting the gains you’re looking for?

This may be why…

Supplements can be easily overlooked, but can make a big impact to your routine, performance at the gym, and overall health. 🥗💊

Whilst they should never be used as a replacement for good nutrition, they can help to fill in some of the gaps, or provide an extra boost on top of your meals. 🚀

Supplements can help to:

🟠Enhance workout performance

🟠Boost energy levels

🟠Support muscle recovery

🟠Help you meet nutritional goals without eating excessive amounts of food.

Knowing what the right supplements are for you is also part of the challenge. The ones we’ve suggested above will benefit most people, but sitting down with a coach or healthcare professional, and checking your vitamin and mineral levels with a blood test, will give you the best idea of what supplements will work best for you. 💪

Our clinic offers personalised blood tests, analysis and breakdown of results - feel free to dm us or book a 1:1 consultation through the link in our bio. 🔗😁

TAKE A DEEP BREATH🫁

Breath is one of the most powerful tools we have for reducing stress.

Taking a moment to take a series of deep, slow breaths helps shift the nervous system from a state of sympathetic fight or flight, into parasympathetic rest and digest. 🛌🍽️

Reducing stress is so important for regulating our nervous systems, reducing our risk of disease, improving our mental health and overall helping us feel happier.

The next time you find yourself in a stressful , take a step out, take a deep breath in, hold it, and then slowly let it out.

Repeat this a few times and notice how your body feels afterwards. 💆‍♀️

It’s amazing how doing such a small thing can have such a powerful effect. 💪

What on earth is PRP? 🤔💉🩸

PRP is platelet rich plasma. Put simply, it’s your body’s own blood platelets, taken out of your blood, centrifuged and re-injected back into your body, normally towards areas that need a little extra tlc.

In the above clip, our PRP specialist Nusra is using PRP to treat hair loss and patchiness but PRP can also be used to treat a range of other issues including: MSK injuries, joint pain, arthritis, vaginal dryness, erectile dysfunction and reduced sensitivity.

How can PRP be effective in treating different areas of the body you may ask 🤔
Well, the versatility of PRP is due to the platelets themselves.

Blood platelets are brilliant because they:

Clot blood at the sight of an injury.
Contain growth factors (a type of protein) that promote healing and tissue regeneration.
Promote inflammation (This may sound bad but increased blood flow to an injury helps it to heal faster).

Meaning they can help to heal and regenerate tissue in many areas of the body.

If you’re curious about how PRP treatments could help you, then feel free to DM us or check out our website for more information - the link is in our bio 😁
