From blistering latch pain in the early newborn days, to navigating night weaning with a toddler, to finding the confidence to try again with baby number two, every one of these families trusted me with something tender, and I don’t take that lightly.

Reading these back genuinely brings me to tears. Thank you, thank you, thank you to every client who has let me walk alongside you. Being trusted with supporting your breastfeeding journey whether that’s starting it, struggling through it, or gently ending it, is the greatest privilege of my work.

If you’re pregnant, in the thick of it, or weaning and wondering if you need support too, I’d love to help. Drop me a message or check the link on my website (link in bio) to book a free 15-minute connection call.🤍

Do you find it hard to feel proud of yourself or recognise how far you’ve come?

I stood in the garden watching my daughter play beside this rose bush. A bush I’ve grown from tiny. And this year? It’s the most beautiful it’s ever been full, abundant, blooming.

I felt proud of it instantly. No hesitation. No “but it could be doing better.” Just quiet, easy pride.

And then I caught myself.

Because I’m three years and seven months into breastfeeding. I’ve grown a small human through newborn chaos, toddler tantrums, and everything in between. I’ve shown up, again and again, even on the days I literally had nothing left. And I struggle to offer myself even a fraction of that same recognition or the recognition I give so effortlessly to others.

Why is it so easy to celebrate a plant and so hard to celebrate ourselves?

Motherhood does something strange to us. It quietly convinces us that we should always be doing more. That what we’ve managed isn’t quite enough. That everyone else is further along, coping better, thriving harder.

That’s not truth. That’s the noise of matrescence the profound, disorienting transformation of becoming and growing as a mother. It reshapes everything, and yet we rarely pause to acknowledge that we are the ones doing the reshaping.

You are not behind. You are not failing. You are blooming even when you can’t see it yet.

The next time you feel proud of someone else’s growth, pause. And ask yourself: what have I grown through lately? You might surprise yourself.🌹

Save this if you needed to hear it today or share with another mother to remind her. If you feel called to, I invite you to share something you are proud of lately 🫶🏻

“Just because I carry it well does not mean it isn’t heavy.”

The night feeds. The mental load. The googling at 2am. The smile you put on because everyone needs you
to be okay.

Becoming a mother does not just change your life. It changes you, at a level that is hard to put into words.
Your identity shifts. Your relationships shift. Your sense of self, your body, your sleep, your friendships,
your dreams, all of it reorganises itself around this tiny person who needs you completely, constantly, in
ways nobody quite prepared you for.

And somehow, without anyone officially deciding it, you became the default parent. The one who tracks
the appointments and remembers the nappy bag and knows which sleep sack is the right tog. The one who
lies awake running through tomorrow in their head while everyone else sleeps. The one who is always on.

And then there is breastfeeding, sitting right in the middle of all of that. Beautiful and hard and exhausting
and tender, all at the same time. Another thing your body is doing. Another thing you are holding together.
You are not coping easily. You are coping well. Those are not the same thing.

If you are carrying more than you ever imagined you would, and doing it quietly, and wondering why it
feels this hard when you look like you are handling it, this is for you.

You deserve support that actually sees you. Not just the version of you that is managing.

I’m here for all of this. See more about how I can support you here www.themindfulmamamentor.co.uk 💚

A little while ago I put together something I truly believe this area needed: a free local guide to pregnancy, birth and baby support, covering Chichester all the way to Worthing. It has been a labour lf love but I’m excited to say it’s being finalised in the next little while…

When I created it, I wanted to do something simple. Make it easier for families in West Suss*x to find the right support at the right time, and shine a light on the incredible small businesses doing that work every day. Not just a list. A curated collection of people who genuinely care. 🫶🏻

Whether you are newly pregnant and trying to work out where to turn, navigating the early weeks postpartum, or simply looking for trusted local support, this guide is for you.

And if you are a birth worker, therapist, photographer, or any other small business serving families in our area, I would love for you to be part of it too.

DM me the word DIRECTORY to get early access to your free copy, tag a small business you think should be featured or send me a message if you would like your business featured. ✨

Breastfeeding in public can feel exposing, especially when you catch a look or hear a comment that makes you want to disappear.

If this has ever happened to you, or you are worried that it might, I want you to pause before you decide what it means.

Because that look across the café?

It might be from a mother whose children are grown, who wanted so much to breastfeed and never had the support to make it work. What you are seeing is not judgement. It is longing.

And that comment from a stranger?

It might come from someone who has never been given accurate information about breastfeeding. Not unkindness. Just a gap in understanding that was never filled.

It might be someone who is simply uncomfortable with their own body, projecting that discomfort outward without even realising it.

Or it might be someone having the worst day of their life, and you just happened to be there.

You are not the problem. You never were.
Breastfeeding in public is legal, protected, and beautifully normal. You are nourishing your baby, not causing a scene.

Save this for the next time you need the reminder and please know I am here for you to support you on your journey to breastfeeding with confidence and pride. Comment the work ‘confidence’ below and I will DM you the ways we can work together 🫶🏻

Proud of you, Mama.

Returning to work as a breastfeeding mother is complex. The guilt of leaving. The relief of being somewhere that feels like you again. The grief of missing feeds. The exhaustion of holding all of it together before you had even walked back through the door.

Returning to work as a breastfeeding mother is not just a logistical transition. It is an emotional one. And you are doing it as a completely different person to the one who left.

There is a word for that: matrescence. The becoming of a mother. It does not pause when you return to work.

Swipe through this one slowly. You are allowed to feel every single thing on these slides.

And if you are in the thick of it right now and need some support, DM me the word SUPPORT and I will be in touch. I see you, Mama 💛

Going back to work while you are still breastfeeding is one of the biggest transitions of early motherhood. And so often, nobody tells you what you are actually entitled to.

So let me.

UK law does not give breastfeeding mothers a specific right to paid pumping breaks but the protections that do exist are real, and a blanket refusal from your employer to support you? That could actually be s*x discrimination.

Swipe to find out what you can ask for, what the law says, and what to do before your first day back.

DM me the word RIGHTS and I will send you my free guide with everything in one place, including a template email you can copy and send to your employer.

You deserve to feel informed and confident going back to work. Like and save this for when the time comes or share with a mother who needs to know this ✨

Have you ever felt a sudden wave of sadness or dread while breastfeeding and had no idea why? You’re not imagining it. You’re not failing. And you’re not alone.

Swipe through to learn about D-MER and the emotional side of breastfeeding that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.

If this resonates; save it, share it, or send it to someone who needs to see it. And if you’re carrying this quietly right now, my inbox is always open. No pressure, no clinical assessment just a gentle conversation. I see you, Mama 🫶🏻
