About me
I’ve spent my life studying human health, and after many years in biomedical research and medical writing, I want to bring together everything I’ve learnt to help people in a more direct way. I’m passionate about teaching and feel that the most important thing we can invest in is our health.
My degree in medical biochemistry gave me a deep understanding of the interactions that underpin human health, disease, medicine, nutrition and exercise. Whilst studying for my masters in oncology, it struck me repeatedly how so many illnesses are preventable and curable with lifestyle factors – and how improving our health can be so hard in the modern world.
As well as my formal career as a researcher and medical writer, I have a life of self-directed learning in all aspects of health. The importance of understanding mental and physical health has led me on a journey through psychology, nutrition, and exercise. Having struggled with depression for many years, I have been amazed how learning healthier habits has improved my mental health, and my physical health in the process.
