Some things just stand out…! invented by Professor David Sharpe OBE at the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit (PSBRU) at the University of Bradford for treating patients Bradford Hospitals NHS Trust following the Bradford fire has been awarded the by the World Origin Site in recognition of it being a significant milestone in treatment of hand surgery / injuries / burns. It has also helped fund research at the PSBRU through its patent in addition to the everlasting support from the Bantams Bradford City AFC and the people of Bradford Bradford Council and the range of fundraisers including West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Paul Chuckle, Bradford City Ribbons, Bradford Sports Awards, Co-op Funeral Care and many others.

Today's walkout jackets will feature the ribbon, paying homage to those who lost their lives in the Valley Parade Fire Disaster.

They will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit. There will also be a bucket collection on the day at the University of Bradford Stadium.

We will always remember. 🎗️

Firefighters have raised more than £63,000 on the 40-year anniversary of the Valley Parade disaster.

The funds, raised by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, will support the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit, which is based at the University of Bradford.

The fire service initially set out to raise £56,000 for the 56 who tragically lost their lives on May 11, 1985.

However, following a series of events, they have exceeded that target by gaining £63,330.14 for the unit - just wonderful and a cause close to so many people's hearts here in Bradford ❤️
