✨ For the brains that never seem to switch off… this one’s for you ✨

I created The ADHD Pocket Reset book because sometimes ADHD brains don’t need another planner, another productivity hack or another reason to feel like we’re falling behind.

Sometimes we just need a moment.

A tiny pause.
A different thought.
A reminder that we’re allowed to reset.

Life with ADHD can mean having 47 thoughts at once, brilliant ideas you forget to write down, unfinished projects, big feelings and days where even the “simple” things don’t feel simple.

This little book is full of gentle prompts, reminders and resets for those moments when your brain feels busy and you need to come back to yourself.

Keep it in your bag.
Leave it on your desk.
Open a random page when you need it.

No pressure to change who you are.
No impossible routines to follow.
Just simple ways to pause, refocus and give your brain a little breathing space.

The ADHD Pocket Reset: Simple Ways to Pause and Refocus Your Busy Mind is available now.

Yesterday, I went to a Summer Solstice celebration that included a cacao ceremony, meditation, and a beautiful sound bath.

We each received a sprig of lavender, lavender essential oil, and were invited to pull a card.

Every now and then, you come across a message that makes you stop for a second.

Mine said: "Creativity flows from me. I am a divine creator."

And honestly, it might be the most me card I've ever pulled.

Lately, I've been feeling the pull to create more, share more, and trust my ideas without questioning every step.

Maybe that's what this season is about.
More flow.
Less force.
More trust.
Less perfection.

As the sun reaches its peak and a new season unfolds, I'm choosing to make space for whatever wants to bloom next.

Happy Summer Solstice to everyone stepping into their next chapter with courage, curiosity, and a little more trust in themselves.

What are you creating, calling in, or making space for this summer?

One of the things many late-diagnosed ADHD women discover is just how much energy they've spent masking.

Trying to fit in, appear organised, seem calm when their minds are racing - working so hard not to be "too much".

And one of the clearest signs that masking is taking its toll is a kind of exhaustion that's hard to explain - even when you haven't done much.

The problem is that masking can become so automatic that we stop noticing we're doing it. Until exhaustion or burnout arrives.

And sometimes we can lose touch with who we really are underneath it all.
Recognising the signs is a good place to start.

The more we notice our patterns, the more we can understand ourselves with compassion - and from there, begin making choices that feel more genuinely ours.

Over the past couple of months, I've enjoyed visiting the Saltaire Arts Trail, the Thornton Art Trail, and most recently North Yorkshire Open Studios.

I always enjoy the opportunity to discover new artists and see such a wide range of creative work in one event.

The North Yorkshire Open Studios didn't disappoint! There was a great range of work on display, including painting, textiles, printmaking, glasswork, sculpture, jewellery, and more.

I always come away feeling inspired by the creativity, skill, and dedication behind each piece.

One of the things I love about events like this is the opportunity to meet the artists, hear a little about their process, and see the spaces where their work is created.

As an added bonus, they often take you to places you might never otherwise visit, making the journey part of the experience too.

A huge thank you to all the artists who opened their studios and shared their work.

Here are a few of the pieces that caught my eye.

I love sharing simple tools and approaches that can help busy ADHD brains.

Mid-Week Mini Resets are small pauses you can dip into to slow things down and refocus when your mind feels busy.
Try them out and let me know what you think!

This week’s reset: Warm Comfort
Wrap your hands around a warm mug, hold a heat pack, or snuggle into a blanket. Let the warmth soak in for a moment before you move on.

Why it helps: Warmth signals safety to your body, soothing tension and encouraging relaxation. It’s especially helpful when you’re feeling tired, low, or disconnected and need gentle grounding.

Not every reset I share will be right for you - and that’s okay.
Think of these as ideas to try out, tweak, or leave behind, depending on what actually helps you.

This is just one of the many practical reset ideas I share in The ADHD Pocket Reset.

The book is designed to support ADHD brains in real life - with gentle, doable tools you can dip into when things feel overwhelming, restless, or hard to settle. It’s not about doing everything or doing it “properly”, but about building a personalised toolkit of resets that work for you.

For years, I genuinely believed I just wasn't trying hard enough.
I thought if I could find the right planner...
The right routine...
The right morning ritual...
Then everything would finally click into place.

Instead, I'd start strong and then watch everything slowly unravel.
Again. And again. And again.
Maybe you know that feeling too.

The one where everyone else seems to manage life without needing a military-level operation just to remember appointments, reply to messages, or keep on top of everyday tasks.

The feeling that somehow you've missed a handbook everyone else received.
For many women who discover ADHD or AuDHD later in life, there is often a moment where years of confusion suddenly start making sense.

You finally realise the problem was never a lack of effort. It wasn't laziness. It wasn't a character flaw. It wasn't because you weren't disciplined enough.
It was because you were trying to force yourself to work in ways that didn't fit how your brain naturally operates.

And that creates an enormous amount of shame.
I've spoken to so many women who carry years of self-criticism.

Women who tell themselves:
"I should be able to cope."
"Why can't I just do it?"
"What's wrong with me?"

The truth is that asking yourself those questions every day is exhausting. It drains your confidence. It chips away at your self-trust.

And eventually it can leave you feeling disconnected from who you really are.
What if the goal wasn't fixing yourself?

What if the goal was understanding yourself?
Because when we understand our patterns, our nervous system, our strengths and our challenges, we stop fighting ourselves quite so hard.
We stop trying to become someone else.
And we begin creating a life that actually works for us.

Not perfectly.
Not overnight.
But gently.
One small step at a time.

If you've spent years believing you're the problem, I'd love you to hear this today:
You are not broken.
You never were.

You simply deserve support that works with your brain instead of against it.

Does any of this resonate with you?

What would it feel like to have a little more space in your mind?

Not because you've finally got everything organised.

Not because you've ticked everything off your to-do list.

But because you've had the chance to pause long enough to hear yourself think.

That's what 'When Your Brain Won't Switch Off' is about.

A gentle, creative workshop for busy minds that need a little breathing room.

No artistic experience required.
No pressure to share.
No expectation to have everything figured out.
Just space to slow down, reflect, and explore what's underneath all the noise.

This week’s reset: Box Breathing

Inhale through your nose for 4 counts,
hold for 4,
exhale through your mouth for 4,
hold for 4 again.
Repeat for a few rounds. You can trace a square in the air as you breathe.

Why it helps: The even rhythm gives your brain a calm structure, helping your nervous system settle.

Not every reset I share will be right for you - and that’s okay.
